Contract Authorized for Spring Creek
Relief Sewer
Following is the City Manager's memorandum and recommendation:
"Council previously authorized City staff to pursue the design
and construction of Spring Creek Relief Sewer. To date design
and construction is underway.
Accelerating development in the service area requires that design
and construction of Stage II begin immediately. We have subse-
quently discussed the preparation of plans and specifications
for Stage II of the Relief Sewer with two engineering firms.
Water and Sewer Utilities staff recommend that the firm of
Hogan and Olhausen be retained for design purposes. A copy
of their proposal is attached.
We are requesting that Council authorize the Administration to
enter into an engineering contract with Hogan and Olhausen for
design work. We estimate that the fee for this work would be
between $59,000 and $70,000. If approved, plans would be ready
by January with construction to begin immediately thereafter.
Recommendation: The Administration recommends that Council
authorize t e Administration to enter into a contract with Hogan
and Olhausen for the design of Spring Creek Relief Sewer "Stage II."
Councilwoman Gray made a motion, seconded by Councilman St. Croix
to adopt the recommendation of the administration. Yeas: Council -
members Bloom, Bowling, Gray, Russell, St. Croix and Wilkinson.
Nays: None.
