COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS, COLORADO
Council -Manager Form of Government
Organizational Meeting - 10:00 a.m.
An organizational meeting of the Council of the City of Fort Collins was
held on Tuesday, April 14, 1987, at 10:00 a.m. in the Council Chambers in
the City of Fort Collins City Hall. Roll call was answered by the
following Councilmembers: Estrada, Horak, Kirkpatrick, Liebler, Mabry,
Rutstein, and Stoner.
Staff Members Present: Burkett, Huisjen, Krajicek
Also Present: Newly -elected Councilmembers Loren Maxey and Bob Winokur.
Mayor Estrada noted that several former Councilmembers and Mayors were in
attendance, along with the 5th grade class from St. Joseph's School.
Swearing In of New Councilmembers
' City Clerk Krajicek administered the oath of office to newly -elected
Councilmembers Chuck Mabry, Loren Maxey and Bob Winokur, and re-elected
Councilmember Susan Kirkpatrick.
The new Councilmembers took their seats at the Council desk.
Mayor Estrada recognized outgoing Councilmembers Barbara Liebler and
Barbara Rutstein.
Election of Mayor
Councilmember Winokur nominated Larry Estrada for the office of Mayor.
Councilmember Maxey seconded the nomination.
The vote on the nomination of Larry Estrada for the office of Mayor was as
follows: Yeas: Councilmembers Horak, Kirkpatrick, Mabry, Maxey, Stoner,
and Winokur. Nays: None. Abstain: Councilmember Estrada.
THE MOTION CARRIED.

Election of Assistant Mayor '
Mayor Estrada nominated Councilmember Stoner for the office of Assistant
Mayor.
Councilmember Mabry seconded the nomination.
The vote on the nomination of Ed Stoner for the office of Assistant Mayor
was as follows: Yeas: Councilmembers Estrada, Horak, Kirkpatrick, Mabry,
Maxey, Stoner, and Winokur. Nays: None.
THE MOTION CARRIED.
Mayor Estrada thanked Council, the City of Fort Collins, and his family for
their support during his term as Councilmember and as the newly -elected
Mayor. He spoke of his view of the direction of the Council and the City.
Assistant Mayor Stoner also thanked Council for their show of support and
stated he was looking forward to a profitable and productive year for the
Council.
Adjournment
Councilmember Winokur made 'a motion, seconded by Councilmember Maxey, to ,
adjourn the meeting. Yeas: Councilmembers Estrada, Horak, Kirkpatrick,
Mabry, Maxey, Stoner, and Winokur. Nays: None.
The meeting adjourned at 10:24 a.m.
