At a
regular meeting of
the City
Council held at the
City Hall of the
City of Fort
Collins on June, 22nd, 1914 at 4 P. M. the following proceedings were had. Present Com-
missioners Clammer, Armitage and Edwards, City Attorney Frank J. annis.
On motion the reading of the minutes of June Sth and 15 were approved.
On motion the City Attorney was instructed to prepare a new ordinance in place of
Ord nance NO. 17 1911 relating to Canvassers, Auctioneers and Peddlers and report same
next meeting.
Moved by commissioner Armitage and seconded by commissioner Edwards that the bill
or refund to the Courier Printing and Publishing Company in re Lot 4 Block 138 40.4o
be allowed and paid upon the verification of the figures by th City Engineer . The roll
being called resulted as follows, Ayes Commissioners Clammer, Armitage and Edwards, Nays
None The president declared the motion adopted.
Moved by commissioner Armitage and seconded by commissioner Edwards that the follow
ing Agreement be spread upon the records.
Fort Collins, Colo, June 17, 1914
TO THE HONORABLE CITY COMMISSION SITTING IN COUNCIL:
Gentlemen:
The undersigned, citizens and residents of the City of Fort Collins and the
owners of the lots set opposite our respective names, hereinafter subscribed, do hereby
promise and agree, in consideration of the city of Fort Collins causing the alley in
Block 18 in said City known as Trimble Court Alley, to be gr-de and paved from wall to
wall of said elley, in accordance with the plans and specifications in the office of the
City Engineer , with what is known as concrete, stone and bituninous concrete, to pay
two-thirds of the cost of such grading and paving when the same is completed and accepted
by the City, to be assessed against the owners of said lots according to front footage
on said allay, and as per, the measurements thereof made by the City Engineer on an ap-
proximate estimate of the total cost of said improvement, amounting to S 620.90.
And we further promise and agree that when said improvement is completed and accept
by the City of Fort Collins, on approval of the City Engineer, to pay or cause to be paid
to the City of Fort Collins the amount assessed against the frontage owned by us respect-
ively, as may be shown by an assessment prepared and levied by the City Engineer upon the
basis of two thirds of the cost of said improvement, it being expressly understood and
agreed that the City of Fort Collins is to pay one third of the cost of said improvement
for the purpose of determining the practibility of such pavement as a permanent pavement
to be used in said city.
it is expressly understood and agreed that the undersigned hereby waive all the stat
utory requirements and provisions respecting the ordering and construction of improve -
vents and that this agreement between the undersigned and the City is made for the expres
purpose of not only saving the cost incident to the observance of the statute but also as
a demonstration for the character and permancy of the proposed improvement for the bene-
fit of the City at large,

Commissioner Armitage presented than following rsolution and moved the adoption
of same, seconded bu commissioner Edwards.
Resolved by the City Council that the matter of making a contract for concerts with
the Fort Collins Concert Band for the season of 1914 , be referred to the Commission
er of Public Works with power to act it being intended by this resolution that
when the Commissioner of Public Works shall have reached an agreement with the Band
the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby' authorized to execute the contract in behalf of
the City. The roll being called resulted as follows, Ayes Commiss oners
Clammer, Armitage and Edwards, Nays None. The president declared the resolution
adopted.
On motion the City Attorney and Commissioner of Safety were instructed to
report next meeting in regards the Reward for False Fire Alarms.
Moved by Commissioner Edwards and seconded by commissioner Armitage that the
City Clerk be instructed to receive $ 150.00 for the Prepetual care of the Lots
in Grand View Cemetery from the I. 0. 0. P. Lodge. The roll being called re-
sulted as follows. Ayes Commissioner. Clammer, Armitage and Edwards, Nays None. The
President declared the *potion adtpted.
Moved by commissioner Armitage and seconded by commissioner Edwards that the
Commissioner of Public Works be alloyed $25.00 for decoration of City Hall and Fire
'Department during the semi -centennial celebration. The roll being called resulted
as follows. Ayes Commissioner Clammer, Armitage and Edwards, Nays None The president
declared the motion adopted.

following ordinance be put on first reading.

(Amending section 1, 79 11 and 22 of article II, section 1 and 3 of article IV. and
sections 1 and 5 of Article V of Ordinance No. 15 1908 being An Ordinance in Rela-
tion to Food and the Inspection thereof.

PAYMENT OF THE COST OF REMOVAL.
