Minutes, of a regular meeting of the City Council held on the 30th day of March A.D.
1914, Present Commissioners Clammer, Armitage and Edwards, City Attorney Frank J. Annis
On motion the reading of the minutes of the meeting of March 23rd inst approved.
On motion the release of the Bond of Ray Baxter City Clerk on the $ 159000.00 was
referred to the City Attorney.
Commissioner Edwards then offered the following resolution and -moved its adoption, sevon-
ded by commissioner Armitage.
whereas, the sum of Seven Hundred and Fifty (750) dollars was appropriated in the annual
appropriation bill for maintenance Volunteer Fireman, and
Whereas it has become imperative for the proper and effective maintenance and operation
of the fire department and protection of property that additional equipment be purchased
Therefore be it,
Resolved by the City Council that the said appropriation of seven hundred and Fifty (750)
dollars be and hereby is set aside and made available for the purchase of additional
equipment for the fire department during 1914 and shall be expended for said purpose unde
the direction and control of the Commissioner of Public Safety and Commissioner of
Finance as may be directed in council.
The roll being called resulted as follows, Ayes Commissioners Clammer, Armitage and Ed-
wards, Noes none, The President declared the resolution adopted.
Commissioner Armitage offered the following resolution and moved the adoption of
same , sedonded by commissioner Edwards.
Whereas certain sidewalks have been constructed under the supervision ofnthe City and
pursuant to contracts made by the City which cost of construction and supervision will
when properly levied and assessed be a charge against its abutting property where con-
struoted and,
Whereas the work has been completed and no hinds are available for the payment of said
construction in the first instance until the funds are collected from the lot owners
There fore be it Resolved bybthe City Council that a special sidewalk Hind be and is
hereby created for the purpose od providing for the payment of said construction and
the proper accounting for the collection from the lot owners for said sidewalks and that
the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby autthforized all and empowts ered t ondrawr the construction
against
n
said special sidewalk fund in payment
of said sidewalk in 19139 when audited and approved bybthe Commissioner of Finance and
the Commissioner of Public Works and approved by the Council, and all collections from
the lot owners for the sidewalks shall be credited to said special sidewalk fund and used
for the redemption of said warrants as fast as said Hind becomes available for said
purpose including interest on said warrants as provided by law.
The roll being called resulted as follows. Ayes Commissioners Clammer, Armitage and Ed-
wards . Noes none, The president declared the motion adopted.
The City Clerk then read over a list of 107 dog owners who were delinquent in their
tax.
Moved by commissioner Edwards and seconded by commissioner Armitage that the City
Clerk turn over the list to one of the Municipal judges for collection and that the city
pay any expense in the collection therefor.
The roll being called resulted as follows, Ayes Commissioners Clammer, Armitage and Edwar
Noes none. The president declared the motion adopted.
Commissioner Armitage then offered the following resolution and moved its adoption
same seconded by commissioner Edwards.
Whereas the owners of lots facing Sycamore street in Blocks 64 and 65 have petitioned

ereas if said portions of Sycamore street are vacated it will make said street uniform
In diwth with the balance of said street west of said blooks therefore be it
Resolved by the City Council that Sycamore street abutting on Blocks 64 and 65 be and the
same is hereby vacated as follows being ten (10) ffet of said street on the south said
