Minutes of a regular meeting of the City Council held at the City Hall on
March 23rd A.•D. 1914. Present Commissioners Clammer, Armitage and Edwards
City Attorney Frank J. Annis.
The reading of the minutes of the meetings of March 9th and 16th were appro-
ved. I
Moved by Commissioner xx Armitage and seconded by Commissioner Edwards That
Bill Poster and Distributing License be granted to the Poste Haste Messenger
Service.
Moved by Commissioner Armitage and seconded by Commissioner Edwards that the
Commissioner of Finance advertise for 1400 feet of 3/4 inch black Pipe. Roll being
palled resulted as follows, Ayes Commissioners Clammer, Armitage and Edwards, Noes
None The President declared the motion adopted.
Commissioner Edwards then reported that Mr. Pangborn had signed a lease on
the old Cemetery Grounds for the sum of $ 45.00 said lease to termonate Jan, 1st,
1915.
Moved by commissioner Armitage and seconded kk by commissioner Edwards that
there being no bids received on the Jefferson Street Improvement District No. 1
that further action in the matter be posponed to the next meeting. The motion be
ing put to a vote carried and so declared by the President.
Dr. Quick was given permission to put in sidewalk 6 feet wide and 1 foot
nearer the property line.
Moved by Commissioner Armitage and seconded by Commissioner Edwards that the
following resolution be adopted.
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL REWIRING THE CONSTRUCTION OF SIDEWALKS IN FRONT
OF LOTS A TO I =INCLUSIVE IN BLOCK 65,IN THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS.
Whereas at the regular meeting of the City Council held on the 16th day of
March 1914 owners of lots A to I inclusive, in Block 65 in the City of Fort
Collins, presented a petition requesting the City Council to order sidewalks to
be constructed in front of said lots; therefore be It
Resolved by the City Council of the City of Fort Collins that sidewalks are
hereby ordered to be constructed adjacent to and abbutting upon the property
hereinafter described in accordance with the provisions of Ordinance No. 1 1909
relating to sidewalks curbs and gutters and all amendments thereto, to -wit: In
front of and abutting upon lots A B C D E F G H and I in Block 65s being on the
south side of said lots.; and the owner or owners of said lots are hereby ordered
and required to construct said sidewalks within thirty (30) days from the date of
this resolution and in the event the owner or owners of said lots shall fail to
construct said sidewalks within the period herein named, the City of Fort Collins
will construct said walks or cause said work to be done, and the cost thereof
will be charged against the abutting property and the owner or owners thereof,
and the expense of said construction duly assessed and collected as provided by
laws said walks to be constructed under the immediate supervision of the City
Engineer and in accordance with the provisions of said ordinance and the amend-
ments thereto; and the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to cause a
copy of this resolution to be served upon the respective owners of said lots ad-
jacent to of abbutting upon the sidewalk so ordered to be constructed, and if the
said walks are -not constructed within thorty (30) days from the date of the adop-
tion of this resolution, the city of Fort Collins will construct the same and
assess the cost thereof including the cost of inspection pand services of the
Engineer in proper y locating the same against the adjacent or abutting property
and the owner or owners thereof, which said assessment shall be made in conformity
with the provisions of Ordinance No. 19, 1884 relating to special assessments.

Moved by commissioner Armitage and seconded by commissioner Edwards that the
following resolution be adopted.
Resolved by the City Council that the City Engineer be and hereby is in-
structed to make and prepare approximate estimates of the cost of surfaoings curb-
ing and street crossings and intersections on College Avenue from the south side
of Oak street to Pitkin street on the south with 40 feet in the center of the
street reserved for Parking to be covered with gravel only, also paving and curb,
ing College Avenue from the south side of Oak street to the north side of the
intersections of Walnut street with College Avenue and Pine street from the in-
terseotion with the north side of Walnut street to the south side of Jefferson
street and Laporte Avenue from the west side of College Avenue to the Colorado
and Southern Depot said last mentioned paving in the business district to be
computed on the basis of using asphalt for streets and cement for curbing; and
also on the basis of using a combination of Asphalt brick and cement for the
streets and cement for the ourbings Also.on Mountain Avenue from the west side of
College Avenue to the C. $e S. Rwy tracks on Mason street and from the east side
of College Avenue on Mountain Ave. to the intersection of Mountain Ave. on the
west side of Remington streets also Linden street from the north side of mountain
to the south side of Jefferson street Also Walnut street from the west side of
Linden street to the east side of college avenue. The roll being called resulted
as follows. Ayes Commissioner Clammers Armitage and Edwards, Noes none, the
president declared the resoution adopted.
