At a regular meeting of the City Council held at the Council
Chamber in the City Hall on the 2nd day of February A. D. 1914. the following
proceedings were -had and approved.
Present, Samuel H. Clammer, President
D. C. Armitage and Alfred A. Edwards Commissioners.
Frank J.'Annis City Attorney.
On motion the minu tes of the'meeting held on January 26th ,ere read
a d approved.
On motion the report of Prof. Rankin in regards electric meter test
ing was referred to Commissioner Armitage and Attorney Annis .
At this time a couunittee of ladies from the Womens Civic League called on
the Council in regards a public rest room. On motion the regular order (,^
business was suspende, and further on motion the matter of a public rest room
for women was referred to coiamissioner Armitage to report.
Regular order of business resumed.
On motion City Attorney instructed to prepare a resolution
ordering all walks south of Oak to Laurel st on College Avenue to be ordered in
"to conform with the ordinance now in effect in regards 6 foot walk also ordering
Commissioner of Works to put in cross walks and aproac hes to the required width
On motion the City Attorney instructed to bring in an ordinance am-
ending the scale ordinance in regards the price of weighing to be reduced from
10 cents to five cents.
On motion the free use of Prospect Park was not granted to the Base Ball
Fans.
On motion Commissioner Armitage was authorized to remove all the trees
in the middle of the street on west mountain avenue that had been marked as
cotton bearing trees.
On motion the report of the city attorney was accepted.
On motion the following report was accepted and ordered placed upon the
recors and further that the 'City Clerk be instructed to collect all the charges
against the owners of the sidewalk which had been constructed by the City.

To the Honorable the Commissioners;
Gentlemen;
My report to you on the question of Special Sidewalk construction, at
this time shall be as follows.
No charge for cutting or filling is made against the lots in question
This report includes only the cost which is to be assessed Lainst the lot
owners, such cost to be cost of the concrete portion of the walk, the cost of th
permit, the cost of engineering, and also the cost of publication. The cost of
publication is not kno n at this time, but must be added at the time it when it
is ascertained.
Then the cost to be levied against each lot, not including the cost
of publication should be as follows;

Lot 2, Block 302, Capitol Hill Addition.

On motion the following form of ordinance was put on final passage as
amended.

RELATING TO THE KEEPING OF :IDEWALKS FREE FROM SNOW AND ICE AND PROVIDING FOR THE
ENFORCFMJ,ENT THEREOF.
The roll being called the vote stood as follows.
Ayes Commissioner, Clammer Armitage and Edwards

All catmmissioners voting in the affirmative the motion was carried and so
,leclared by the President.
