Subject: May 27, 2025 Work Session Summary: Civic Assembly Recommendations
BOTTOM LINE
The purpose of this memo is to document the summary of discussions during the May 27 Work
Session. Mayor Arndt, Mayor Pro Tem Francis and Councilmembers Gutowsky, Pignataro, and
Potyondy, and Ohlson were present in person. Councilmember Canonico participated remotely.
DISCUSSION SUMMARY
• Updated Council that on June 23rd, there will be a super issue meeting where all boards
and commissions will be invited to hear from two Civic Assembly delegates regarding their
recommendations and experiences and option to provide feedback directly to Council.
• Demographics information on the Civic Assembly as compared to the Fort Collins
populations was shown.
• Correction on Housing Status chart in the presentation: unhoused row should read 5% of
the Civic Assembly which accounted for one person
• Three delegates in person and one delegate remotely shared their observations,
recommendation of multi-use and key reflections with Council
• Council expressed their appreciation to the Delegates
NEXT STEPS
Council asked for a follow up Work Session in July to discuss options and potential ballot
language should Council want to refer Civic Assembly recommendations to the Nov 2025 ballot.
Staff has this scheduled for July 8th.
FOLLOW-UP ITEMS
A request was made for a summary of the recent Our City page survey. Staff will provide this to
Council by mid-June and post it on the project page.
