HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - Ethics Review Board - 04/11/1995 -C MINUTES EThICS REVIEW BOARD MEETING April 11,1995 at 4:30 p.m. City Attorney Conference Room City Hall West The Board convened on the above date at 4:30 p.m.in the conference room of the City Attorney’s Office in City Hail West to discuss the following questions which had been presented by Mayor Pro Tern Gina Janett and former Councilmember Gerry Horak: Whether Jennifer Carpenter and Ruth Weatherford (members of the Landmark Preservation Commission)had a conffict of interest in participating in the decision- making process of the Commission regarding the designation of property for landmark status upon the nomination of the Historic Fort Collins Development Corporation.Ms.Carpenter is the president of the Corporation and Ms. Weatherford is a member of its Board of Directors. Whether former Councilmember Gerry Horak is permitted to obtain employment with the City as a referee or umpire for City-sponsored athletic events,if that employment occurs within one year of the date that he ceased to be a Councilmember. In attendance were Ethics Review Board members Ann Azari,Bob McCluskey and Alan Apt; Landmark Preservation Commission member Jennifer Carpenter;and City Attorney Steve Roy. The Board discussed the questions referenced above,as well as previous Ethics Review Board opinions that had been rendered regarding similar questions.The Board then rendered its opinions and directed the City Attorney to prepare drafts of the opinions for the Board’s review and presentation to the City Council.(Final drafts of said opinions are attached hereto and incorporated herein.)
