Daggett, Legal SUBJECT Resolution 2021-102 Making an Appointment to the Parking Advisory Board of the City of Fort Collins. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY The purpose of this Resolution is to make an appointment to the Parking Advisory Board. STAFF RECOMMENDATION Staff recommends adoption of the Resolution. BACKGROUND / DISCUSSION Councilmembers Peel and Pignataro interviewed one applicant to fill one of four vacancies on the Parking Advisory Board due to several resignations. The Councilmembers are recommending appointing Steve Ackerman. This appointment will begin upon adoption of the Resolution and expire on December 31, 2023. ATTACHMENTS 1. Why do you want to become a member of this particular board or commission? I am a downtown business owner and feel that businesses are not well represented on this commission. Yes No If yes, please share your experience: I spoke with a member the other day who is also a business owner and was told that this commission has almost as many vacancies as members List any abilities, skills, certificates, specialized training, or interests you have which are applicable to this board or commission: ATTACHMENT 1 Briefly explain what you believe are the three most important issues facing this board or commission, and how do you believe this board or commission should address each issue? 1) Rationing of limited parking available without negatively impacting downtown businesses. I think the commission needs to hear from business owners who are primarily impacted by any changes in status quo. 2) Downtown employee parking. Incentivize (or disincentivize)business employees to park outside of the commercial area or in parking decks. Create more off-street parking opportunities. 3) Rationing parking. Create more shorter-term spaces in front of businesses. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS as follows: Section 1. That the City Council hereby makes and adopts the determinations and findings contained in the recitals set forth above. Section 2.
