1. CALL TO ORDER
a. John Morris called to order at 12:15pm

No changes to agenda
2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Arianna motion to accept minutes, Sherry and Terry second to accept, Unanimous
3. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION
No comment
4. PRESENTATIONS AND DISCUSSIONS: None
5. NEW BUSINESS
2019 Periodic Review of COD
o Explanation from Erin: Council will continue to discuss how boards and
commissions may change, there are no immediate changes to report
o This questionnaire will be addressed at the October or November meeting,
after the Community Recognition Awards
Community Recognition Awards
a. Nominations
i. Employee of the Year – 3 nominees, 1 winner voted on today
ii. Service Provider of the Year – 4 nominees, 1 winner voted on today
iii. Spirit of Fort Collins – 4 nominees, 1 winner voted on today
iv. Dorothy Allen – 1 nominees, 1 winner voted on today
v. Educator of the Year – 2 nominees, 1 winner voted on today
vi. Volunteer of the Year – 2 nominees, 1 winner voted on today

6. UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Community Recognition Awards Planning
o Nominations were not posted on social media, as they were supposed to be
o Menu will have a Vegan, Dairy and Gluten free option, salads and fruit or cake;
will use stickers to color code preferences in dishes
o Carol will need to bring the banner to the day of the recognitions event
o Will have one turning light-up directional at the Main Entrance of the Lory
Student Center to point people to the Ballroom
o Music suggestion by Sherri, Brian will play piano while people are eating.
General banquet music will play during slideshow/awards
A specific song was written for the winner of the service provider of the year
away and will be announced as dedicated to them when performed
o Slide presentation will be put together by Arianna and Jan
o Flow will be the same as last year
o Introductions and awards announcements by each COD board member as
assigned today, each will have 2 minutes to present
o Chairs that are pulled for wheelchair access will be removed by CSU staff as
needed, will be better than last year with chairs sitting around anywhere
o Reserved table for COD board members, board is allowed +1’s
o Nominees are allowed +4’s
o Nominees and Winners will be notified by Sherri, Arianna will forward info to her
o Nominees can opt into a group picture with the Mayor
o Decorations are being handled by CSU, white table clothes with blue accent
o Jan will do food colors prior to night and Arianna and Jan will be at front table
o Arianna will send summary and remaining tasks to COD board members
