Mason Street, Fort Collins, Colorado 80524 Council Liaison: Council Member Bob Overbeck Staff Liaison: Equal Opportunity and Compliance Officer, Carol Thomas Recorder: Jayne A. Smith Present: Kimberly Allison, Colleen Conway, Cynthia Davis, Jessica Gengler, Hillel Katzir, Julia Mackewich, Susan Mathre, Jean Runyon and Victor Smith, Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 5:34 p.m. by Victor Smith, Chair. Agenda Review: The meeting agenda was motioned and approved 7-0; two members arrived late. Approval of Minutes: The February, 2018, meeting minutes were motioned and approved 7-0; two members arrived late. Public Input: There was no public input. Presentation: • Carol Thomas presented information about the budget, a decision matrix outline, strategic objectives, goals and resources that could be used when deciding on an action Item. Discussion Topics: • Officer Elections. A motion was made and approved 9-0 to elect officers in April instead of March. • Budget Review. A three year Historical Spending Report was presented by Carol and discussed. Cynthia Davis will create a budget accounting system that will benefit HRC planning efforts. • Key resources for the HRC Decision Matrix were listed: The City’s Strategic Plan, The Boards and Commission’s Manual, The City Code and The HRC Bylaws. Vic Smith will construct an HRC Event Decision Matrix. • Retreat Planning Update and Input. Discussion centered on the goals for the 03/29/18 facilitated HRC retreat. Julia Mackewich will compile an outline of the retreat to present to the facilitator. • Initiatives for 2018 Events. Discussion centered on ways to collect information and decide on events that would be of value to the community. • Members expressed interest in supporting the FoCo Speaks Out event scheduled for 05/09/18. Julia Mackewich will speak with Joseph Somodi to discuss options for HRC support. • Colleen Conway and Susan Mathre presented a summary of the HRC City to City Collaboration. Meetings are scheduled approximately every six weeks. • There was a review of the 01/22/18 HRC event, Cracking the Codes. • Potential HRC events, an HRC Reunion and a Social Impact Dinner were discussed. • Other: Jessica Gengler reported that on 03/22/18, Fort Collins Museum of Discovery will present Discovery After Dark, Women’s History Month. Closing: A motion to adjourn was approved 8-0 at 7:24 p.m.; one member left early. The Next HRC meeting will be Thursday, April 12, 2018, at 5:30 p.m. The venue will depend on the status of the City Hall West construction.
