The August regular meeting was cancelled due to lack of business. For the November meeting, NRAB served as co-host with the Air Quality Board and the Larimer County Environmental and Science Advisory Board of a Technical Session on Air Quality with presentations by Staff and outside experts from National Center for Atmospheric Reserch and Colorado Department of Public Health and the Environment. Input to City Council was based on presentations by Staff and outside experts with discussion. Additional items of interest provided education for the Board, provided updates on current projects, and allowed us to be a sounding board for Staff. We would like to express our appreciation for the professionalism and dedication of Staff. The table below lists agenda items considered and formal actions taken by the NRAB during 2017. These agenda items fall within the priority areas addressed by the NRAB and reflect the Agenda Items scheduled for Council in 2017. Additional items were added when requested by Council or Staff. Priority areas for NRAB include Waste Reduction and Recycling; Water Resources; Road to Zero Waste and Climate Action Plan; and Transportation Planning. During 2017, one member of the NRAB served as a designated representative to the Bicycle Advisory Committee, two members participated in the North Front Range Regional Wasteshed Planning Study, and two members attended the Colorado Association for Recycling annual “Summit for Recycling” conference in June. We took three field trips in 2017, visiting the Hoffman Mills Road demolition material grinding and demonstration composting facility, the Timberline Recycling Center, and the Larimer County Landfill. One Board member, John Bartholow, completed 8 years of service to the Board and our community. We will miss his expertise, especially in water resources. One Board member, Katherine de Leon, resigned, from the Board. We will miss her expertise, especially in education, biking and recreation issues. Danielle Buttke was appointed to finish her term. Thank-you for the opportunity to serve. We hope that we have added value to Council’s and the City’s goals, objectives, and operations. Respectfully Submitted, Nancy DuTeau, Chair, Natural Resources Advisory Board 2017 Members: Nancy DuTeau (Chair), Luke Caldwell (Vice-Chair), John Bartholow, Jay Adams, Katherine de Leon, Drew Derderian, Elizabeth Hudetz, Robert Mann, Ling Wang, and Danielle Buttke. cc: Darin Atteberry Katy McLaren 2 City of Fort Collins Natural Resources Advisory Board 2017 Annual Report Date: Topic/Agenda Item Memo to Council January 2015 Building Code and Local Amendments Yes Update on Northside Revitalization Project No Northern Integrated Supply Project Update Yes 2016 NRAB Annual Report Yes February NRAB Board Elections and Appointment to BAC Yes (to Overbeck only) State of the Poudre Update No NRAB Meeting Procedures No March Nature in the City Lose-A-Watt/Georgetown University Energy Prize April Changes to Utilities Raw Water Requirements and Cash-In-Lieu Rate Not at this meeting Community Recycling Ordinance and Organics Update Drafting Ditch Related Questions No May Update on Plastic Bag Recycling No Update on Climate Action Plan No Water Conservation and Efficiency No June Fort Collins Solar Program No State of the Poudre Report No Carbon Sequestration Study No July Northern Integrated Supply Project Update Via Minutes per Council Request Changes to Utilities Raw Water Requirements and Cash-In-Lieu Rate Yes August: Cancelled September Environmental Protection Requirements for Development and Contruction Projects No Climate Economic Action Plan No October Electric Bike Demonstration at 215 N.
