Cheryl Distaso – Community Action Network
Lynn Thompson – Fort Collins Homeless Coalition
Jeff Mihelich – Deputy City Manager
CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order at 5:36 p.m.
AGENDA REVIEW
The meeting agenda was unanimously approved.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The January meeting minutes were unanimously approved.
PUBLIC INPUT
Michael Pruznick – Michael addressed the lack of response when letters were written to the City Council from
concerned residents regarding the homeless population in Fort Collins.
GUEST PRESENTATIONS
Cheryl Distaso and Lynn Thompson presented on the use of public space, including public housing and the
history of HUD (The Department of Housing and Urban Development).
Jeff Mihelich presented information about the draft ordinance, Compassion and Consequences: Disruptive
Behavior Solutions.
DISCUSSION TOPICS
Members discussed the draft ordinance Compassion and Consequences: Disruptive Behavior Solutions.
A motion was made to send a memo to City Council expressing the view that the HRC does not support the
ordinance. The motion was unanimously approved. A committee was established to outline the HRC’s
recommendation to Council.
CLOSING
A motion to adjourn was unanimously approved at 7:57 p.m.
The Next HRC meeting will be Thursday March 09, 2017, at 5:30 p.m. in the CIC Room, City Hall West.
