Youth Advisory Board
Regular Meeting
Date: Wednesday, April 6th, 2016
Place: Foothills Activity Center
Time: 5:30-6:30 pm
241 East Foothills Parkway (Located Inside Foothills Mall)
Present:
Vivian Bear, Betsy Pruznick, Nicholas Lin, Calvin Flammini, Nela Mohan, Megan Ronquillo
Community members:
Matt Parker
Absent:
Naitra Ramchander, Bekki Nord, Katie Ko, Justin Moritz
Staff Present: Marc Rademacher and Ray Martinez (Staff Liaison)
• Motion to call the meeting to order made by Betsy Pruznick at 5:40 p.m. seconded by
Nicholas Lin
• Approval of Minutes: Betsy Pruznick motioned to approve the minutes, Megan Ronquillo
seconded
• Chairman’s report: none
• Nicholas Lin was elected new vice chair and Megan Ronquillo has joined the board
• Citizen Participation: Matt Parker on the West Nile Virus
- Presentation on the site: fcgov.com/WestNile
- The Board talked to him about how to get the youth more aware
- Key point from the presentation were to make a behavior change
• Co Everyone Matters Day: Event on April 12
th
- Nicholas talked to Myan Smith and Danielle Clarke about making an
announcement in the schools
- Idea: Time Lapse of Support tree build by handprints
- Idea: go to city council on the day
- Can sign a poster outside of the school on the day of, but cannot do anything with
the schools.
• Pinwheel Project for Syria with the Loveland YAC
- They were sent and around $600 were raised
• Community Chalkboard
- Slate $10 per square foot (tile)
- Slate slab $1,000-1,500
- Invite DBA and DDA for a future meeting to talk about location
- An idea for an online chalk board was proposed
• Adjournment: Betsy Pruznick motioned to adjourn at 7:00 p.m., Nela Mohan seconded
the motion. Motion unanimously passed.
