HomeMy WebLinkAboutCommunity Development Block Grant Commission - Minutes - 06/20/20181 CDBG – June 20, 2018 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT COMMISSION SPECIAL MEETING NOTES PROCESS IMPROVEMENT SUBCOMMITTEE 215 North Mason, Fort Collins June 20, 2018 – 5:15 PM SUBCOMMITTEE OBJECTIVE: The Process Improvement Subcommittee will gather for five meetings over the 2018 summer months to review and provide input on the City’s Competitive Process for human services grant funding. The Subcommittee will be composed of three CDBG Commission members. COMMISSION MEMBERS PRESENT: Sara Maranowicz Serena Thomas COMMISSION MEMBERS ABSENT: Olga Duvall STAFF PRESENT: Adam Molzer – Staff Liaison At 5:20 PM the meeting was called to order. PUBLIC COMMENT: No Public Comment. COMPETITIVE PROCESS IMPROVEMENT • This is an opportunity for members of the Commission to contribute their ideas towards recommendations that City staff will fold into improvements for the Competitive Process. • This is also an opportunity for Commission members to drill into specific tasks/assignments to help improve the Competitive Process. • This is an opportunity to examine ways to make the Competitive Process leaner, while maintaining the value and integrity of the final funding recommendation. • It was agreed that a summary of the work would be presented to the full CDBG Commission when the group concludes at the end of the summer, and that the recommendations and work efforts would not be debated, revised or overhauled by the full Commission. • Discussion began with examining the ‘Begin with the End in Mind’ approach for this summer subcommittee’s work. • Commission members and staff liaison worked through activity to record and report their desired direction and destination for the 2019 Competitive Process. • Concluded meeting by briefly reviewing prior improvement recommendations – Novak Group Report. ADJOURNMENT Meeting was adjourned at 7:20 PM.
