CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Vivian Bear at 5:30 pm 2. ROLL CALL a. Katie Ko, Milan Khosla, Vivian Bear, Suhaas Narayanan, Emily Winn, Kaustubh Kaushik, Sam Hammock b. Members Absent – None c. Staff Present - Tim Stabbe (Senior Supervisor Recreation), Christine Macrina (Boards and Commissions Coordinator), Tim McCullough (Deputy Director Utilities) d. Community Members Present - Karl Ayers, Transportation Board Member 3. AGENDA REVIEW – Jody Hurst, City Attorney unable to attend and removed from agenda 4. COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION – none 5. APPROVAL OF MAY 2ND MINUTES – Winn motioned to approve. Ko seconded. Minutes pass as presented. 6. UNFINISHED BUSINESS - None 7. NEW BUSINESS ● Leadership Tip of the Month – Katie Ko spoke of the importance of “Focus” ● Elections – Members interested in serving as an officer made their intentions known and provided some background. o Katie Ko – Chair position o Milan Khosla – Chair or Vice Chair position o Emily Winn – Vice Chair position o Sam Hammock – Any position A secret vote was taken, ballots given to Christine Macrina for tally. ● Tim McCollough provided a presentation on 100% Renewable Electricity Resolution; Council will consider on October 2. o Triple Bottom Line Have Fort Collins achieve 100% renewable energy by 2030, *discussed if this should be a goal or a mandate* 09/05/2018 – MINUTES Page 1 BOARD NAME TYPE OF MEETING – (REGULAR, WORKSESSION, SPECIAL) o Reach out to youth population through Environmental clubs through various high schools o Solar Panels will change and become cheaper in the next few years o Platte River Power Authority will oversee achieving a net-carbon neutral situation. o About 70 cities in the United States, Loveland has already created one. ● Board was in favor of supporting the Resolution. ● Discussed having one-member attend or view each City Council meeting to keep the Board apprised of current issues. ● Transportation Board Survey. Karl Ayers has informed the Transportation Board of the YAB survey and they would welcome a presentation by a board member. ● Community Chalkboard: Approved, planning in progress. End date not set yet, but goal is to have it done by end of the year ● Proposals of New Ideas o Tennis Court Lights (Kaushik) o Red Light Cameras (Khosla) 8. BOARD MEMBER REPORTS - None 9.
