Staff Liaison: Aimee Jensen A regular meeting of the Liquor Licensing Authority was held December 7, 2017 in Municipal Court, 215 North Mason. Judge Kathleen M. Lane presiding. Staff in attendance: Bron-,vyn Scurlock, Assistant City Attorney David Lindsay, Liquor Enforcement Officer Aimee Jensen, Deputy City Clerk Change of Location Application from Butters A.M. Eatery, Inc., dba Butters A.M. Eatery to move a hotel -restaurant liquor license from 1220 West Elizabeth Street, Unit B, to 1103 West Elizabeth Street, Approved Jerisel Haro, representative for Butters A.M. Eatery, Inc., briefly described the new premises. He stated the reason why they are moving is that this new location is a larger premise. Mr. Hato briefly described the petitioning process. He stated the petitions indicate support for this application. Judge Lane adopted Resolution 2017-025 approving a change in location application from Butters A.M. Eatery, Inc., dba Butters A.M. Eatery, to move a hotel -restaurant liquor license from 1220 West Elizabeth Street, Unit B, to 1103 West Elizabeth Street. December 7, 2017 Hearing on a New Application from Unity Hospitality, LLC, dba Union, 250 Jefferson Street, Approved Ty Fulcher and Raffi Jergerian, representatives for Unity Hospitality, LLC, were sworn. Mr. Fulcher stated there will be 60-70 employees involved with the sale and service of alcohol. In response to questions from the Authority, Mr. Fulcher described the premises. He stated all the employees will be trained in SafeSery and that they will all be trained before they open in mid -February. Mr. Fulcher briefly described the petitioning process. He stated the petitions indicate strong support in granting this liquor license. Judge Lane adopted Resolution 2017-036 approving a hotel -restaurant liquor license from Unity Hospitality, LLC, dba Union, 250 Jefferson Street. Manager Registration Application from Washington's, LLC, dba Washington's, 132 LaPorte Avenue Approved Jim Martell, attorney representing Washington's, LLC, stated Tom Scharf had testified extensively regarding the Washington's liquor license. He stated he was registered as the manager for a liquor license in Denver. Mr. Scharf stated they anticipate opening February 3, 2018. He stated all employees will be trained regarding the sale and service of alcohol prior to opening and that any employee found in violation of the liquor code will be terminated. Judge Lane approved the registration of Tom Scharf as manager of Washington's, 132 LaPorte Avenue. 2 1 P a g e December 7, 2017 Hearing on a New Application from Bohemian Nights, LLC, dba The Armory, 314 East Mountain Avenue, Approved James Martell, attorney for Bohemian Nights, LLC, stated he will call Laura Wilson as a witness. Laura Wilson, manager, was sworn. She stated any employee found in violation of the liquor code will be terminated and that she completed TIPS training recently. Ms. Wilson stated they will only be open for events and that they will only be serving beer and wine. She detailed the premises, stating that the beer and wine will be stored in a locked area downstairs. Ms. Wilson stated she will be available during events to address any issues that may arise. Max Scott, representative for Oedipus, Inc., was sworn. Mr. Scott briefly described the petitioning process, stating the survey indicates support for this application. Judge Lane adopted Resolution 2017-035 approved a lodging and entertainment liquor license from Bohemian Nights, LLC, dba The Armory, 314 East Mountain Avenue. Hearing on a New Application from OPB Restaurants, Inc., dba Oregano's Pizza Bistro, 4235 South College Avenue, Approved Frank Sbordone, representative of OPB Restaurants, Inc., was sworn. He stated they originated in Arizona. Mr. Sbordone briefly described the premises and stated they will have approximately 100 employees. He stated any employee found in violation of the liquor code will be terminated. Eva Garretson, representing Liquor Licensing of Colorado, was sworn. She briefly described how the survey was conducted. Ms. Garretson stated this survey indicates strong support for this application. Judge Lane adopted Resolution 2017-034 approving a hotel -restaurant liquor license application from OPB Restaurants, Inc., dba Oregano's Pizza Bistro, 4235 South College Avenue. 3 I P a g-e -- ------ December 7. 2017 Hearing on a New Application from Lei Lo, LLC, dba Simmer, 2519 South Shields Street, Suite 1F, Approved Christopher Joseph, operations director for the applicant, was sworn. In response to questions from the Authority, Mr. Joseph detailed the premises and described the type of food they will be serving. He stated this will be a full -service restaurant. Sheridan Moch, manager applicant, was sworn. He stated all the employees will be trained with regard to the sale and service of alcohol will be completed prior to opening. Mr. Moch stated anyone found in violation of the liquor code will be immediately terminated. Max Scott, representative for Oedipus, Inc., was sworn. He briefly described the petitioning process and how employees are prepared to conduct the survey. Mr. Scott stated this survey indicates strong support for this application. Judge Lane adopted Resolution 2017-031 approving a hotel -restaurant liquor license from Lei Lo, LLC, dba Simmer, 2519 South Shields, Suite 1F. Hearing on a New Application from KRSA, LLC, dba Pizza Press FoCo at 216 North College Avenue, Approved Kyle Fromholtz, representative for KRSA, LLC, was sworn. He detailed the premises, stating the basement will be part of the licensed premise. Mr. Ftomholtz stated he hopes to open mid -February and that all he and all the employees will be TIPS trained prior to opening. He stated any employee found in violation of the liquor code will be terminated. David Wyatt, representative for Aggie Agency, LLC, was sworn. He detailed the petitioning, stating that this survey indicates strong support for this beer and wine application.
