HomeMy WebLinkAboutLiquor Licensing Authority - Minutes - 04/05/2018LIQUOR LICENSING AUTHORITY MINUTES Regular Meeting, April 5, 2018 1:00 p.m. Staff Liaison: Aimee Jensen A regular meeting of the Liquor Licensing Authority was held April 5, 2018 in Municipal Court, 215 North Mason. Judge Kathleen M. Lane presiding. Staff in attendance: Bronxvyn Scurlock, Assistant City Attorney Matt Hahn, Liquor Enforcement Officer Aimee Jensen, Deputy City Clerk Registration of Josh Cook as Manager of Fuzzy's Taco Shop, 1335 West Elizabeth Street, #125, Approved Josh Cook, manager applicant, stated he has been serving alcohol for 5 years. He explained how they handle fake id's and that any patron ordering an alcoholic beverage must provide valid identification. Mr. Cook stated any employee found in violation.of the liquor code is immediately terminated. Judge Lane approved the registration of Josh Cook as manager of Fuzzy's Taco Shop, 135 West Elizabeth Street, #125. N April 5, 2018 Registration of Anthony Springer as Manager at Cheba Hut Toasted Subs, 925 South Taft Hill Road, Approved Anthony Springer, manager applicant, stated he supervises 8 bartenders. He stated he has been in the restaurant business for 17 years and that he is on premise approximately 60 hours a week. Mr. Springer stated any patron ordering an alcoholic beverage must provide valid identification and that if a bartender suspects someone is inebriated, they will ask the patron questions to determine if they are. He stated any employee found in violation of the liquor code is immediately terminated. Judge Lane approved the registration of Anthony Springer as manager of Cheba Hut Toasted Subs, 925 South Taft Hill Road. Registration of Kevin Kato as Manager at Tokyo Joe's, 100 West Troutman Parkway, Approved Kevin Kato, manager applicant, stated he has recently completed TIP's training and that employees involved with the sale and service of alcohol are required to complete TIP's training prior to serving. He stated he supervises 18-20 employees. Judge Lane approved the registration of Kevin Kato as manager of Tokyo Joe's, 100 West Troutman Parkway. Transfer of Ownership of Fort Collins Brewery & Modern Tavern, from Ambiance, Inc., to Red Truck Beer Limited Partnership, 1020 East Lincoln Avenue, and Trade Name Change to Red Truck Brewery, Approved Mark James, representative for Red Truck Beer Limited Partnership, stated they are making changes to the premises. Laird Mulderick stated he has been serving alcohol for nearly 10 years. Mr. Mulderick stated they are hoping to open this summer. Mr. James stated any employee found in violation of the liquor code will be immediately terminated and that Mr. Mulderick has access to the liquor code for reference. In response to questions from the Authority, Mr. Mulderick described the premises. Judge Lane approved the transfer of ownership from Ambiance Inc., to Red Truck Beer Limited Truck Brewery and trade name change to Red Truck Brewery. N April 5, 2018 Transfer of Ownership of Western Convenience Stores, 1113 West Drake Road from Western Convenience Stores, Inc., to Pester Marketing Company, and Trade Name Change to Alta #6130, Approved Dennis Dirkse, regional manager, described their requirements which employees must follow when carding patrons purchasing 3.2% beer. He stated any employee found in violation of the liquor code will be immediately terminated. Judge Lane approved the transfer of ownership of Western Convenience Stores, from Western Convenience Stores, Inc., to Pester Marketing Company and trade name change to Alta #6130. Transfer of Ownership of Lulu Asian Bistro, 117 South College Avenue, from Lu, Inc., to Xiu ling, Inc., Continued to May 3, 2018 This item has been continued to May 3, 2018 to allow for the City to hire an interpreter. Transfer of Ownership of 7-Eleven Store 32276A, 6600 South College Avenue, to Bajrangi, Inc., & 7-Eleven, Inc., and Trade Name Change to 7-Eleven Store 32276B, Approved Kevin Coates, attorney representing 7-Eleven, Inc., stated this store is being transferred to a franchisee. He stated employees are trained to card any patron purchasing 3.2% beer that appears to be under the age of 40. Mr. Coates stated Ms. Chettry has access to the liquor code and will be on premise most of the time. Judge Lane approved the transfer of ownership of 7-Eleven Store 32276A, from 7-Eleven, Inc., to Bajrangi, Inc., & 7-Eleven, Inc., and trade name change to 7-Elven Store 32276B. 3 April 5, 2018 Transfer of Ownership of Miramont Lifestyle Fitness, 901 Oakridge Drive, from Miramont Sports Center, Inc., to GHC South Ft. Collins Operators, LLC, and Trade Name Change to Miramont by Genesis, Approved Anda Lincoln Stephenson, attorney representing GHC South Ft. Collins Operator, LLC, stated Lindsay Randall, manager applicant, will answer the Authority's question regarding operations. Lindsay Randall stated that all employees involved in the sale and service of alcohol will be TIPs trained before the cafe opens in May. She stated that the cafe is only open from Memorial Day to Labor Day and that they will not be changing how they are serving. Ms. Randall stated that customers will not see a difference in operations of the health club and that they generally close at 7:00 p.m. She stated patrons ordering an alcoholic beverage must provide valid identification in order to be served. Ms. Randall stated any employee found in violation of the liquor code will be immediately terminated. Judge Lane approved the transfer of ownership of Miramont Lifestyle Fitness, 901 Oakridge Drive, from Miramont Sports Center, Inc., to GHC South Ft. Collins Operators, LLC, and Trade Name Change to Miramont by Genesis. The meeting adjourned at 2:00 p.m. Adjournment 4 Municipal Judge
