REGULAR MEETING

YOUTH ADVISORY BOARD
DATE: Wednesday, December 2nd, 2015
LOCATION: Northside Aztlan Community Center, 112 Willow St, Fort Collins, CO 80524
TIME: 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.
Present:
Nela Mohan, Betsy Pruznick, Nicholas Lin, Calvin Flammini, Katie Ko, Justin Moritz
Community members:
Megan Ronquillo
Absent:
Naitra Ramchander, Bekki Nord, Vivian Bear
Staff Present: Marc Rademacher and Aaron Harris (Staff Liaison), Anne Bierbower (Civic
Engagement Liaison), and Christine Macrina (Boards and Commissions Coordinator)
• Motion to call the meeting to order made by Calvin Flammini at 5:32 p.m. seconded by
Nicholas Lin
• Approval of Minutes: Calvin Flammini motioned to approve the minuets, Justin Moritz
seconded
• Chairman’s Report - Chairman, Calvin Flammini, met with Boards and Commissions
Coordinator, Christine Macrina, concerning the fallowing topics:
- The community chalkboard
- Pinwheels for Paris and movie night with Loveland YAC
- Bullying recommendations
• Logistics for the community chalkboard
- Who supplies the chalk
- How to manage it
- How to clean and maintain it (If it is at the city council building have the cleaning
crew clean it)
- Target it towards the youth
- Slabs vs. a wall
• Possible locations for the community chalkboard
- Old town
- Spring canyon park
- Old town
- Town square
- City Park
- Outside the City Council Building
• Setup and mission statement of the chalkboard idea:
- Mission statement- first amendment or bullying
- Having quotes from people in American History (free speech movement)
- A place of unity with art in middle to show the purpose
- Get local artists for the project
• Youth Advisory with Loveland: pinwheel project thoughts
- What location (will decide with Loveland board)
- Bring kids form schools
- Have it open to the kids in the area
- Just the Youth Advisory kids
• Bullying issue
- Create an event with the Loveland board or with the local schools.
People to invite: Ellen Martin, Kurk Frisen
• Adjournment: Chair Calvin Flammini motioned to adjourn at 6:34 p.m., Nela Mohan
seconded the motion. Motion unanimously passed.
