CULTURAL RESOURCES BOARD MINUTES
Regular Meeting – Thursday, May 28, 2015

A regular meeting of the Cultural Resources Board was held on Thursday, May 28th at 12:00 p.m.
The following members were present:
Board Members present: Maggie Dennis, Jesse Solomon, Tedi Cox,
Janet Gilligan, Will Flowers, Francisco Gutierrez
Board Members absent: Steven Sorensen
Staff Members present: Jill Stilwell, Megan Kelley, Cheryl Donaldson
Guests Present: None
I. Call to Order: 12:03 p.m. - Ms. Dennis
II. Consideration of agenda: no changes.
III. Consideration and approval of the minutes from April 29, 2015.
Ms. Gilligan made a motion to accept the minutes as amended.
Ms. Cox seconded the motion.
The motion passed unanimously.
The Board thanked Gale Budner for her years of service with the Fort Fund Grant program and the
Cultural Resource Board.
IV. Public input: none
V. Debrief from April Fort Fund session:
Staff shared comments from Council that were made during the regular City Council meeting
When the Board’s grant recommendations were approved.
VI. Select Liaisons:
Selected liaisons for Tier 3 applicants.
VII. The Marketing Campaign:
The Board is concerned with the Coloradoan coverage on Fort Fund Grants. The Board will be
looking into doing a “Thumbs up” in the Coloradoan.
Slate Marketing will be providing the marketing assistance for Fort Fund Tier 3 applicants.
VIII. Reports:
Staff Reports:
As support to the CRB, Ms. Donaldson reported on current and upcoming events at the Fort
Collins Museum of Discovery. Ms. Stilwell reported on the Lincoln Center, the Community
Creative Center and on the current status of the Creative District Candidacy.
As CRB liaisons, Board members reported on the meetings they recently attended with the
following organizations/Boards:
Ms. Cox - Art in Public Places
Mr. Flowers and Ms. Stilwell will arrange a meeting with the new director of the Downtown
Business Association, and invite him to one of the upcoming Board meetings.
IX. Review of Past Fort Fund events:
As the CRB liaisons to funded events, Mr. Solomon reported on the Sustainable Living
Association’s Earth day Fort Collins 2015 on April 18th.
Mr. Gutierrez reported on the Cinco de Mayo of Northern Colorado’s Fort Collins Northern
Colorado’s Cinco de Mayo Festival 2015 on May 1st-3rd. There was a question if the logo was
included in advertising.
X. Other Business: Ms. Gilligan reported on the Women’s Commission Breakfast she attended on
on behalf of CRB.
