YOUTH ADVISORY BOARD

LOCATION: Northside Aztlan Community Center, 112 Willow St, Fort Collins, CO 80524
TIME: 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.
Present:
Nela Mohan, Betsy Pruznick, Nicholas Lin, Naitra Ramchander, Katie Ko, Justin Moritz
Community members:
Megan Ronquillo
Absent:
Calvin Flammini, Bekki Nord, Vivian Bear
Staff Present: Marc Rademacher (Staff Liaison), Ellen Martin (Art in Public Places Board), Mike
Callahan (Parks and Recreation Board), Matt (Building Review Board), and Christine Macrina
(Boards and Commissions Coordinator)
• Motion to call the meeting to order made by Betsy Pruznick at 5:35 p.m. seconded by
Nicholas Lin
• Approval of Minutes: Betsy Pruznick motioned to approve the minuets, Justin Moritz
seconded
• Public Comments: Mike Pruznick gave a short presentation about speaking up about
bullying. (attached)
• Chairman’s Report - none
• Community Chalkboard Presentation
- Ellen Martin (Art in Public Places Board), Mike Callahan (Parks and Recreation
Board), and Matt (Building Review Board) were invited and present for the
presentation
- The presentation went over location, design, and themes.
- In a Q&A session with the guests, they suggested, to have the community
chalkboard come up seasonally instead of year around, making the board lighter
and sought after
- Talk to the Downtown Development Association for the location
- Talk to the Downtown Business Association for the how and when
- As a board then next steps are to talk about the rules, create a design, search other
community chalkboards, and find funding /a price estimate.
- Other ideas: make it event based (schools, a gathering, a message)
- Other ideas: make it a legacy project
• Pinwheel Project with the Loveland YAC will go as planned, most likely on March 20
th
• Bullying project ideas
- Middle and High school
- Create Flyers to spread the word
- Short term project vs. long term
- Quote about bullying on the chalkboard
- Have just a committee working on it
- Get other groups or organizations involved
- Ask the Loveland YAC if they would like to join
• Adjournment: Betsy Pruznick motioned to adjourn at 6:37 p.m., Nela Mohan seconded
the motion. Motion unanimously passed.
