REGULAR MEETING
WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 4th, 2015
YOUTH ADVISORY BOARD
DATE: Wednesday, November 4th, 2015
LOCATION: Farm at Lee Martinez, 600 Sherwood Street.
TIME: 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.
Present:
Nela Mohan, Betsy Pruznick, Naitra Ramchander, Nicholas Lin, Calvin Flammini, Bekki Nord,
Vivian Bear, Katie Ko
Absent: Justin Moritz
Staff Present: Marc Rademacher and Aaron Harris (Staff Liaison), Anne Bierbower (Civic
Engagement Liaison), and Christine Macrina (Boards and Commissions Coordinator)
1) Meeting called to order by Marc Rademacher at 5:32pm.
2) Introductions: The Board introduced themselves, as this was the second meeting for
newly appointed board members.
3) Approval of Minutes
4) Chairman’s Report: None.
5) Board Officer Selection: The Board discussed the need for a Chair, Vice Chair, and
Secretary.
Calvin Flammini was voted as Chair
Betsy Pruznick was voted as Vice Chair
Nela Mohan was voted as Secretary
Calvin Flammini motioned the board accept the election of himself as Chair, Betsy
Pruznick as Vice Chair, and Nela Mohan as Secretary.
The motion was seconded by Betsy Pruznick. The motion passed unanimously.
6) 2015/2016 Youth Advisory Board Goals
• Art and Music of Youth
• U+2 ordinance and affordable housing
• Work with regional youth
• Engage with city council
- Attend a meeting
- Make recommendations
• Community Chalkboard
Calvin Flammini motioned to make the 2015-2016 priority to make a community
chalkboard with an invitation to regional youth, and also looking at the possibility to
include arts and music. Naitra Ramchander seconded the motion. Motion unanimously
passed.
Calvin Flammini motioned to make it a YAB priority to engage with the city council.
Betsy Pruznick seconded the motion.
7) Strategic Planning Activity
Board members completed a strategic planning activity by placing pins on a
bulletin board next to ordinances they felt strongly about
8) Adjournment: Chair Calvin Flammini motioned to adjourn at 6:36 p.m., Vivian Bear
seconded the motion. Motion unanimously passed.
