Board Members Present: Siyu Wu, Natalie Pederson, Kelsey Hennig, Sarah

Board Member Absent: Langston Stuckey
Staff Members Present: Megan Greer, Administrator – Recreation Department
Guest(s) Present: Nancy Nichols, Safe Routes to School Coordinator from
the Transportation Planning department of Fort Collins
Call meeting to Order:
The meeting was called to order by Chairperson, Pranaya Sathe, at 6:42 pm.
Approval of Minutes:
Minutes approved 7-0, motioned by Kelsey, seconded by Nathan.
Introduction of new members
Agenda Review:
None
Citizen Participation:
Nancy Nichols is the Safe Routes to School Coordinator from the Transportation
Planning Department in the City of Fort Collins. She presented on the Safe Routes to
School program in collaboration with PSD.
Other Business:
1. Nancy Nichols presented on Safe Routes to School to give background
information on what the event is and how it impacts the community.
Their goal is to have 50% of all PSD students biking and/or walking to
school.
2. The YAB members discussed the Budget proposal.
a. Pranaya wrote a letter to ask for funding for the after school
program.
b. The Budget Adoption First Reading is October 16
th
and starts
at 6:30. A couple YAB members will go to speak further about
the funding.
3. The Board and Commission Dinner is November 14
th
from 5:30 to 7
pm in the Canyon West Ballroom in the Lincoln Center. YAB
members should RSVP to Megan.
4. The Human Relations Committee Senior/Elder Abuse Forum will be
4:30 to 7:30 pm on October 22
nd
. A few YAB members will go to
represent the youth voice.
5. Jennifer Marley is applying for a CSU/ARO Bohemian Grant for a
photo voice project with kids with disabilities. YAB member were
asked to help out if the grant is accepted.
6. There will a Cityworks session presented by Claire Thomas in a
couple of weeks for YAB members and other youth about how the city
works.
7. COYAC update:
a. There is a national competition called Student Cam that was
presented at COYAC. Pranaya will provide more information
once available.
b. On October 10
th
from 9:30 to 10:30 am in the Lory Student
Center Pranaya will be presenting at the Diversity Conference.

Natalie moved to adjourn at 7:23 pm and Pranaya seconded the motion.
