Call meeting to Order:
The meeting was called to order by Megan Greer, Staff Liaison
Approval of Minutes:
Minutes approved 5-0, motion by Pranaya.
Anti-bullying Summit:
Elaine reviewed the details of the anti-bullying summit and showed the “Make it Stop” video by the band
Rise Against. The YAB voted to call the summit “Make It Stop: Anti-Bullying Summit.” The event will
be held on Wednesday, November 9th from 6-8 p.m. Location TBD. The summit will be free and YAB
members will help promote it. Each YAB member was charged with asking their SRO and school
counselors if they would participate on the panel and try to find a parent or classmate who was close to
someone who committed suicide to talk about how dangerous bullying is.

Citizen Participation:
Elaine Boni answered questions and brainstormed with YAB about the “Make it Stop” summit.
Other business:
a. Zombie Prom, Saturday, October 22nd 8-11 p.m. at Old Goodwill building downtown, $7 entry –
YAB members suggested having costume contests, gross feely stuff and a haunted house.
b. Update on CYAC – The 1st CYAC fall retreat will be on October 15 & 16 in Winter Park. The CYAC
is working on a bill to address teen suicide.
c. Indoor Beach Party- YAB suggested having music, booths, contests, possibly a slip n slide, and
should be $5-$7 per ticket and then food would be included in the ticket fee. Hosting the pool party
during Spring break or on a Saturday was agreed upon as the best time to host the pool party. Party
would also be only for middle school students.

Pranaya moved to adjourn the meeting and Nate seconded at 7:30 p.m.
