Call to Order: 12:25pm
1. Introductions
Returning COD members welcomed the new members and introduced themselves. New
members introduced themselves and briefly outlined their backgrounds and interest in the
COD. The new members in attendance are: Jennifer Arndt, Gwendolyn Dillman and Jim
Dunlap.
2. Approval of December 2011 Minutes
Motion to approve – Hueber, Second - Devereaux
3. Open Discussion General Public
None
4. New Business
a. 2011 Annual COD Report
Coon provided a draft of the report to members. All members agreed that the draft
was thorough and comprehensive. McDonnell can post it to the website.
b. Nominations for Executive Committee Positions
Chair – Coon nominated by Hueber, seconded by Arndt, unanimous vote.
Vice Chair – Devereaux nominated by Coon, seconded by Schlicting, unanimous
vote.
Historian – Hueber nominated by Devereaux, seconded by Arndt, unanimous vote.
Secretary – Miller nominated by Coon, seconded by Hueber, unanimous vote.
5. Old Business
a. Hearing Loops Update
Cozzens reported that the hearing loop in the Council Chambers is fully installed and
operational. Total construction cost was approximately $11,000.00. Hearing Loops
are now part of the City of Fort Collins Design Standards for new construction and
remodels of City owned public buildings. City of Fort Collins to provide future
hearing loop designs to the Commission on Disability for their input.
b. Elderhaus Crosswalk Update
Currently, nothing new to report. Will revisit at the February meeting.
6. Community News and Updates
All COD members should have received an invitation to the “State of the City”
address. Please attend if you can.
