Staff Liaison: Aimee Jensen A regular meeting of the Liquor Licensing Authority was held on December 3, 2012 in Municipal Court, 215 North Mason. Judge Kathleen M. Lane presiding. Staff in attendance: Bromvyn Scurlock, Assistant City Attorney Aimee Jensen, Deputy City Clerk Approval of Minutes Judge Lane approved the minutes from November 19, 2012. Hearing on a New Application from J.J. Linden Street, LLC for a hotel -restaurant liquor license at The Blind Pig, 214 Linden Street, Approved AND Registration of Rebekah Wells as Manager of The Blind Pig Pub, 214 Linden Street, Approved James Wells, representative for J.J. Linden Street, LLC, was sworn. He stated he has been in the service industry since 1992. Mr. Wells stated he was in charges of operations at the other restaurants. He stated this location will be a `pub and grub' type establishment with a full menu. Mr. Wells stated he will be on premise on a daily basis and will primarily be overseeing the kitchen. He stated he has had extensive experience with liquor service in a college town. Mr. Wells stated he will closely monitor the front door and carding patrons. He stated they will have live music. In response to a question from the Authority, Mr. Wells he is very aware of noise issues for neighbors and has had experience at a previous location dealing with noise complaint. He stated he has not had any other noise complaints other than the one. Mr. Wells stated they are hoping to open by January 15, 2013. He stated he will not only get training in the sale and service of alcohol in Colorado, that he will also require all his staff to attend and become certified. Mr. Wells stated any employee found in violation of the liquor code will be immediately terminated. He stated he has a current copy of the liquor code and intends to maintain a current copy of the liquor code on premise. December 3, 2012 Al Dunton, party -in -interest, stated he has been a business owner at 233 Linden Street and that there arc two main problems in the downtown area. He expressed concern over noise levels on a regular basis. Mr. Dunton stated they stem from the noise issues and how patrons are handled outside each establishment. He stated this particular premise has approximately 40 residences living on this block. Mr. Wells stated that he would not have music performing on the patio on a regular basis. He stated they will offer dancing on weekend evenings and that they are not decided yet on that. Mr. Wells stated he will give Mr. Dunton his phone number. Carol Johnson, representative for Esquire Petitioning Services, LLC, was sworn. She briefly described the petitioning process, stating this petition indicates support for this application. Rebekah Wells, manager applicant, was sworn. She stated she will be on premise on a daily basis. Ms. Wells stated their intent is to have a different establishment than the previous tenants. Judge Lane adopted Resolution 2012-18 approving an appication from J.J. Linden Street, LLC, for a hotel -restaurant liquor license at The Blind Pig Pub, 214 Linden Street and registration of Rebekah Wells as manager of The Blind Pig Pub, 214 Linden Street.
