Staff Liaison: Aimee Jensen A regular meeting of the Liquor Licensing Authoritywas held on July 9, 2012 in Municipal Court, 215 North Mason. Judge Kathleen M. Lane presiding. Staff in attendance: Bronwyn Scurlock, Assistant CityAttorney Aimee Jensen, Deputy City Clerk Kyle Bendzsa, Liquor Enforcement Officer Approval of Minutes Judge Lane approved the minutes from June 18, 2012. of Chance Fiala as Chance Fiala, manager applicant, stated he has been with Pizza Hut for approximately 6 years. In response to a question from the Authority, he stated the corporate office is responsible for training all the employees. He stated that there is always a manager on dutyto serve alcohol. Mr. Fiala stated they ` — card-ari atron oofilerin alcohol that appears to -be under the age of 35. He stated an employee found YP g PPg Y in violation of the liquor code is written up. Mr. Fiala stated he has a current copy of the liquor code on premise. Judge Lane approved the registration of Chance Fiala as manager of Pizza Hut, 2567 South Shields, N A- C. Transfer of Ownership of Mulligan's Pub and Sports Club, 2439 South College Avenue from Tom & Mike's, LLC to Area 23, LLC, Approved Louis Cleveland, representative for Area 23, LLC, stated he is not making anychanges to premises. Mr. Cleveland stated he will retain the current staff and that he will only be making changes to the menu. He stated that all employees are TIP's trained and any new employees will be required to be nP's trained. Mr. Cleveland stated he will complete the TIP's training within 60 days. He stated he has approximately 60 employees and that on a busynight has 2 managers on premise. Mr. Cleveland stated any patron that looks under the age of 40 and orders an alcoholic beverage is carded. He stated any employee found in violation of the liquor code is first written up. July 9, 2012 Hearing on a New Application from PBM, LLC for a beer and wine license at International Appetite, 130 West Olive Street, Unit D, Approved Paula McIntosh and Matthew McIntosh, representatives for PBM, LLC, were sworn. Mr. McIntosh stated he is TIP's trained and has had experience with managing liquor licensed establishments. Mrs. McIntosh brieflydescribed the menu and the type of food theywill be serving. Mr. McIntosh described the patio, stating that the concrete patio is approximately 3 feet above the parking lot. He stated the patio is fully visible from the inside and that they will have someone stationed on the patio. Mrs. McIntosh stated they will approximately have 6 employees and that Mr. McIntosh will be responsible for training all the employees. He stated he will be instructing their employees to card anypatron that orders an alcoholic beverage. Mr. McIntosh stated they do not currently have a current copy of the liquor code on premise, but intend to. Mr. McIntosh briefly described the petitioning process. He stated they received positive comments for this application. Judge Lane adopted Resolution 2012 - 10 approving an application from PBM, LLC, for a beer and wine license at International Appetite, 130 West Olive Street, Unit D. Hearing on a New Application from TKC & Associates, LLC for a beer and wine license at Pinoes Palette, 159 West Mountain Avenue, Approved Kim Fain and Tony Curtis, representatives for TKC & Associates, LLC, were sworn. Mr. Curtis stated he and Ms. Fain attended Liquor Enforcement Bendzsa's liquor training class and that they intend to be TIP's trained. Ms. Fain stated they will only hire experienced servers. She stated this franchise agreement is from Texas that allows patrons to bring their own alcohol. Ms. Fain stated she is currently writing up a policy regarding the sale and service of alcohol. She stated they will not have any outdoor patio space. Ms. Fain stated that they will join Responsible Area Retailers and attend their TIP's training. She stated she will require her artists to be TIP's trained as well. Ms. Fain stated that any patron that appears to be under the age of 30 and orders an alcoholic beverage is carded. She stated anyemployee found in violation of the liquor code will be immediatelyternunated. Ms. Fain stated she — does not have a current copy of the liquor code, but intends to once they open. Ms. Fain briefly described the petitioning process, stating they received many positive comments in support of this application. Judge Lane adopted Resolution 2012-09 approving an application from TKC & Associates, LLC for a beer and wine license at Pinot's Palette, 159 West Mountain Avenue.
