Youth Advisory Board
2010 Work Plan and Meeting Schedule
All regular Youth Advisory Board meetings are scheduled for the first Wednesday of
each month at the Northside Aztlan Community Center, 112 E. Willow at 7:00 p.m.
2010 Meeting Schedule
January 6 April 7 July – no meeting October 6
February 3 May 5 August – no meeting November 3
March 3 June – no meeting September 1 December 1
2010 Work Plan
• Develop a relationship with City Council and follow their meetings more closely
- write to Aislinn Kottwitz after each meeting
- write to City Council formally
- go to a City Council meeting
- understand what City Council is all about
• Establish a partnership with Poudre School district
- talk to principals and vice-principals at as many schools as possible
- go to a school board meeting
- go to student council meetings
• Youth survey
- do a survey about youth interests, likes and dislikes
- have a table at school lunchrooms informing students about the Youth
Advisory Board
- advertise the Youth Advisory Board meetings in school papers
• Drug presentation
- talk to school resource officers
- contact chief of Fort Collins police department
- talk to Mark Larkin, former head of DARE
- talk to CSU police
