Mason 1-B 6:30-8:30 pm * Members Present- Becky Goldbach, Annette Zacharias, Kris Callahan, Kathleen Sullivan -Bailey, Sue Bacarri, Suzanne Jarobe-Simpson (city liason) , Kristen Sergi * Meeting called to order by Sue Baccari • Feb Minutes- Sue motioned to accept February minutes. Annette seconded. Motion passed. • March minutes- Sue motioned to accept March minutes. Kathleen seconded. Motion passed. • HRC Community Chat on May 20- Becky motioned that we participate in HRC program about Elder abuse in our community. Kris seconded. Motion passed. • May's women's commission to be.held at HRC community chat on May 20`n Becky motioned. Kathleen seconded. • Essay contest- It was noted that Becky did an exceptional job organizing the essay contest. Discussion about how great the experience was, and how much the kids enjoyed the experience. Discussion about the students going to the City Council meeting on 4/21 at 5:30pm. Discussion about what the Mayor says to the students. Annette agreed to make framed certificates for the students to be presented by the Mayor. • Annette to write thank you cards on City letterhead. • Becky to do thumbs up article in the Coloradoan. • Plan on quick review next month on whether the age group should change with the grade reconfiguration. • Marcile N Wood Award- Discussion about how to increase activity with award. 2111 CSU, Coloradoan, PVH. April 301n is the deadline. Will decide next meeting if deadline needs to be changed due to lack on nominations. • Discussion about what the recipient receives. Kris to bring copies of the nominations we have at this time to the next meeting. Discussion about having the Marcile N Wood award recipient on the KRFC radio show. Newsletter/Website- Discussion about newsletter and website. Newsletter target date is June. Discussion about the possibly expanding website to provide resources for women in our community. Discussion about how important it is for all members to respond to everyone's emails. Sue to bring copy of newsletter to be reviewed at next meeting. Brainstorm Community Education- Discussion continues about how we as a commission can provide education to the community to improve the lives of the women in our community. We will revisit at May meeting. Take Back the Night- Annette gave us an update, but no info found at this time. Radio Programs- Kris to call and make contact with KRFC. Will table topics until June meeting. Pride in the Park- Plan on having booth with Annette. !st Sat in June 9:30-6p at Civic Center Park. Budget Review- Sue discussed that all spending should be approved by all commission members. Discussed having a budget next year. Suzanne to buy 6 frames for Essay contest winners. Annette motioned. Becky seconded. Tickets to be purchased for SOAP theatre. Annette moved. Becky seconded. Meeting Adjourned at 8:30pm.
