Agenda Item 3 - Public Comment None Agenda Item 4 – Future Agenda Discussion (6-month planning calendar) and Member Updates Discussion focused on scheduling and considering the following future agenda items: August 2009 - Land and Building Needs of the City's Targeted Industry Clusters September 2009 – South College URA (Review 5 priority redevelopment sites) Entrepreneurs Panel (tentative: evening meeting) Phase 2 of Mike Freeman Business Interviews October 2009- Entrepreneur panel Mason Corridor (2-hour time commitment) Review manufacturing use tax pros and cons Discuss University and City collaboration on energy cost savings North College corridor Specific DDA Projects Agenda Item 5 – Follow up discussion regarding previous meetings After receiving language feedback from the commission, Bill Timpson plans to follow up later regarding a potential Pathways Past Poverty Initiative recommendation. Mary Atchison’s Pathways Past Poverty presentation was an informational only presentation to the EAC on February 4, 2009. Agenda Item 6 – Update on the Community Marketplace (Gailmarie Kimmel and Hill Grimmett) • The meeting started with a handout of the Be Local Eating Map. • No Co Food incubator is a part of the Be Local No Colorado program. • The DDA will review a programmatic feasibility study this fall and most of Marketplace project will be funded by DDA. • Once it’s open it has to support itself so the Marketplace functions as en economic entity. • Once the financial analysis is underway, more economic information will be available to address how the project can be self-sustaining. The City of Fort Collins wants to create a business climate where entrepreneurs can succeed. The Marketplace project fits in with DDA ideas in supporting facades and vitality and economic health. The Marketplace goal is to create differentiation from other communities and keep a vibrant downtown.
