2010 Work Plan & Meeting Schedule
2010 Meeting Schedule
Regular meetings of the General Employees’ Retirement Committee (GERC) are scheduled for
the second Thursday of every month and are held at 215 North Mason in conference room 2A
beginning at 1:15pm. The 2010 GERC meeting schedule is:
January 14 April 8 July 8 October 14
February 11 May 13 August 12 November 11
March 11 June 10 September 9 December 9
2010 GERC Work Plan
Prepare 2009 GERC Annual Report for City Council prior to January 31, 2010.
Submit IRS approved Plan for Council approval within 90 days of receiving IRS
approval.
Elect Officers and Review GERC standing rules in February, 2010.
Continue Monitoring of Retirement Plan and the appropriate level of contributions.
Revise actuarial assumptions prior to April 1, if necessary for the 2010 Report.
Distribute ‘Personal Retirement Planning Statement’ forms in April 2010.
Review Quarterly Investment Reports.
Review legislative issues with actuarial consultant and support staff.
Conduct RFP process for actuarial consultant services in June, 2010.
Prepare Work Plan for 2011 by November 30, 2010.
Provide educational opportunities for GERP members when needed.
Monitor, update as needed, and post the minutes of the meetings once they have been
approved and signed to the General Employees’ Retirement Committee web site.
Provide advice to Council on retirement issues raised in the 2011-12 budget process.
