HomeMy WebLinkAboutArt In Public Places Board - Minutes - 04/16/2008• ART IN PUBLIC PLACES MINUTES • Wednesday, April 16, 2008 Lincoln Center Columbine Room MEMBERS PRESENT: Craig Russell, York, Jane Liska-Smith, Lee Needham, Liliane Francuz, Ray Tollison MEMBERS ABSENT: Jane Nevivry STAFF PRESENT. Ellen Martin, CharityFinnigsmier, Jill Stilwell, Jim ONeill, Dean Klingner, & Mike Herzig C:RB LIAISON: Susan Marshall I. Call to order. 3: 38 p.m - Mr. York II. Consideration of the current agenda III. Review of Minutes from the meting on March 26, 2008: Mr. Jane LS made a motion to accept the Minutes as amended Ms. Francuz seconded the motion Unanimously Approved IV. Citizen Participation: 3 students from CSU here from a news writing class. V. West Harmony Road Submission Review. Ms Martin went through the process form for the selection. Ms Martin reviewed the RFQ, and gave an over view of the goals for the project. Mr. Klingner and Mr. Herzig from the Engineering Dept, who sit on the project team, joined the board for review. They spoke to the location and the details of the project. Submissions were reviewed. We had input from citizens attending. Discussion was had. Mr. Tollison trade a motion to accepted Christopher Weed as the first choice for the Harmony Road Project and Mark Leichliter as the alternate. Mr. Russell seconded the motion Unanimously Approved VI. Staff Report: Ms Martin distributed the staff report with updates of the program's art projects. VII. Other Business: a. Susan Marshall the Cultural Resources Board liaison had her first meting with the APP board She asked the APP Board and staff if the goals for "Wa34inding" in Fort Collins can include the APP component? Discussion was had and further information will be collected on this. b. Ms. Martin mentioned some nice publicity on the Transformer Cabinets Mural Project c. The APP board was reminded of the Special Meeting on April 30 at 3:30 p.m d. APP staff is submitting three APP projects for consideration for the Urban Design Award e. The APP board asked staff for a brief update on any new information regarding the downtown placement of public art. APP staff is still looking into answers to these questions. VIH.
