One of the significant points of conversation has been to what extent the City encourages and is proactive in fostering the redevelopment of significant sites along the corridor. Vice Chair Shaw motioned: The feeling of the EAC is there is a role for the City to play in placing an emphasis on the corridor given the importance of this transportation and development corridor to the City. The EAC recommends that the City Council play a proactive role in fostering redevelopment along the corridor and determining what kinds of support and assistance can be provided to encourage timelier redevelopment of key sites throughout the corridor. Hovatter second, and the motion passed unanimously. Agenda Item 5 — 2007 Financial Overviews by Mike Freeman/Jeremy Reese The EAC was brought up to date on the 2007 City Financial Summary and 2008 Projections. No decisions were made. Agenda Item 6 — Cluster Overview by Mike Freeman Discussion following centered on cluster organizers helping to identify challenges and limitations of each their cluster groups in order to help economic development in the future. Identifying emerging, developing industries is a key aspect to economic development in Fort Collins and a major focus of the group. The EAC will try to invite Kathy Kregel of the Bioscience Cluster and/or Gailmarie Kimmel of the Be Local program to advance their knowledge and understanding. Agenda Item 7 — Open discussion of Economic Vision for the City of Fort Collins Discussion extended to April 9, 2008.
