HomeMy WebLinkAboutLandmark Preservation Commission - Minutes - 11/21/1981LANDMARK PRESERVATION COMMISSION REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 21, 1981 MEMBERS PRESENT: Dick Beardmore, Chairperson Ron Carsten Wayne Sundberg Janet Zemeckis MEMBERS ABSENT: Susan McMillen STAFF PRESENT: Felix Lee, Deputy Chief Building Official Paul Deibel, Senior Planner John Dewhirst, Senior Planner Debbie Hover, Secretary „ Building Inspection Mr. Barnes, Zoning Administrator, presented the sign application to the Commis— sion. Mrs. Hazel Lenters from Trimble Court Artisans was present to represent the applicant for the sign. Mr. Barnes indicated Mrs. Lenters is wishing to have a sign, "Gifts & Gallery", painted on the side of the building. He stated it would be in the same lettering as the Trimble Court Artisans sign on the front of the building. He said it would be 24—inch letters painted on the tan back— ground using brown lettering. Mrs. Lenters..stated they are wishing to have this sign painted on the side of the building to 'indicate the changing use of the store there (it used to be where classes were held and is now mainly a gifts/ gallery store). The shop is located at 114 Trimble Court in Old Town. MOTION MADE by Mr. Sundberg to approve the sign application as submitted. SECONDED by Ms. Zemeckis. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY. Mr. Beardmore stated that he and Mr. Deibel were present at the Old Town Planning Committee meeting on October 20th and that the Committee did not have a quorum and thus did not formally approve the design guidelines final draft. He stated that, with some changes made, they would be in favor of approving it as presented and would be voting on it at their next meeting. The Commission reviewed the final draft as well as the appendix (review and submittal requirements), noting changes that need to be made for the final copy (some typographical errors, wording, rearranging of pictures and text, etc.) MOTION MADE by Mr. Carsten to approve the design guidelines and the appendix with the changes to be made as discussed.. SECONDED by Mr. Sundberg. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
