LANDMARK PRESERVATION COMMISSION

Mr. Mike Wittmer, sign contractor, presented his sign application at 200 Linden
for an awning sign on the corner. He stated this is for a sporting goods store
at that location and that the sign would be approximately seven feet in length
with the wording, "The Wright Life Sporting Goods". Mr. Barnes indicated that
it is well within the sign allowance.
He then presented the sign application

MOTION MADE by Ms. McMillen to approve

MOTION MADE by Mr. Carsten to approve
231 Walnut. SECONDED by Mr. Sundberg.
for 231 Walnut for "J. B's Sausage Haus"
in length and 32 inches high.

Mr. Bruce Conway, sign contractor, presented his sign application for 237 Walnut.
He stated it would be 2' x 8', above the windows and below the cornice on the
building front. He said he would also be placing a sign on the front door window.
The wording would read "Horizons - A. Contemporary Art Gallery", using black and
gray colors on a white background, which he stated are the Gallery's colors.
MOTION MADE by Mr. Sundberg to approve the sign application as presented for
237 Walnut. SECONDED by Ms. McMillen. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
Both Mr. Wittmer and Mr. Conway left the meeting with Mr. Barnes.
Mr. Dewhirst handed out copies of the National Trust Newsletter giving information
on the upcoming training course on downtown revitalization in San Francisco coming
up March 29 - 31 of this year. He then gave the Commission a slide presentation
of some of the downtown/individual building rehabilitation projects he was able
to see during his travels. He stated that this would be educational for the
Commission to view since they will be looking at Old Town projects very soon.
He said it always helps to see what projects are in actuality vs. what the blue
print drawings that the Commission reviews looked like'.
