Ms. Martha Olson appeared on behalf of the "Trimble Court Artisans". She displayed the proposed sign for the Commission, explaining that it would be placed under the _window, mounted flush on the building wall adjacent to the sidewalk. Ms. Fcrnan verified that the sign was in conformance to zoning regulations with regards to sign allowance for the building. MOTION MADE by Ms. McMillen to approve the sign application as presented. SECONDED by Ms. Zemeckis. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY. In lieu of the proposed contractor, and on behalf of herself as the business owner, Ms. Nean Svedman arrived at the request of the Commission as an applicant representative to present the awning application at 222 Walnut. She provided a working sketch of the proposed awning. Mr. Beardmore asked for clarification on the correct address. Ms. Svedman stated that 222 Walnut Street was the correct address, noting that 216 Walnut Street as listed on the application was in error. Changes were noted on the paperwork. She also amended the request to stipulate a four -foot projection instead of the three-foot as was specified on the original application. She stated this change was needed because of the need to shade the interior of the store from the sun. Mr. Lee clarified the Building Code require- ment for the awning to be at least eight feet above the walk except that the valance may be seven feet above. Mr. Beardmore asked if the proposed 26-foot wide awning would span the entire facade of the building. Ms. Svedman stated that it would. She also elaborated on the color scheme which would match the previously LPC approved sign, consisting of predominantly light grey with narrow upper red and dark grey bands and a wider red valance and bottom trim band, as detailed in the sketch. MOTION MADE by Ms. Zemeckis to approve the awning application, amended to permit a four -foot projection. SECONDED by Ms. McMillen. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
