HomeMy WebLinkAboutLandmark Preservation Commission - Minutes - 06/10/198211 MEMBERS PRESENT: MEMBERS ABSENT STAFF PRESENT LANDMARK PRESERVATION COMMISSION Dick Beardmore, Ron Carsten Janet Zemeckis JUNE 10, 1982 Chairman Susan McMillen Wayne Sundberg Laurie Zitowitz Felix Lee, Deputy Chief Building Official W. Bruce Conway the applicant for 117 Linden Street presented a drawing of the logo for the sign at Rooster Cogburns. This is for the double windows and will be hand -painted on the windows. Each sign totals approximately 9 square feet. The colors are a neutral background, the letters are entirely dark rust, not black, with some gold highlights and black edging. The use of the building will be primarily a restaurant which will sell liquor. These signs will be the only identification on the front of the building since the owners are trying to get funding to redo the fascia of the whole front. If that comes through they will probably want to use up the rest of the sign allowance. But until that time, this will be the only signage. The outside of the building is natural red brick and a dark gray. The windows are about 2 feet from the ground and are just off being square. Mr. Beardmore added for.the record that the sign is already installed. MOTION MADE by Janet Zemeckis to approve the signs as submitted. SECONDED by Ron Carsten. Mr. Beardmore clarified if Mr. Conway is now aware that the Commission review and approval should be done before the work is done. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY. The minutes of the last meeting were read and corrections specified. Meeting adjourned. RB/af Respectfully submitted, R chard Beardmore, Chairperson Ie5ix' Lee , Staff Support
