MINUTES
CITY OF FORT COLLINS
EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT BOARD
MEETING HELD SEPTEMBER 8, 1977
Members Present: Jack Williams, John Hartman, and Ron Wood
Members Absent: Philip Shade and Warren Dalke
Three retirement applications were presented to board members for review and
action as follows:
Adam Stumpf - Normal Retirement Benefit - $99.24 monthly for the lifetime
of Adam Stumpf.
Motion was made by Jack Williams to approve the retirement
as requested. Seconded by Ron Wood. Unanimous approval.
Howard Sonday - Normal Retirement Benefit - $61.65 monthly for the life-
time of Howard Sonday.
Motion made by Jack Williams to approve Mr. Sonday's
request. Seconded by Ron Wood. Unanimous approval.
Alfred R. Lowery- 10 Years Certain and Continuous - $23.52 monthly payable
for the lifetime of Alfred Lowery. In the event that
employee should die before 10 full years of payments
Helen Lowery shall receive payments for balance of 10
year period.
The board was advised that the lump sum payment to
Mr. Lowery, since monthly payments are less than $25,
would be $3,307.72. Since Mr. Lowery did not have
information regarding the lump sum payment, it was the
boards responsibility to provide him with that information.
Motion made by Jack Williams to give Mr. Lowery a choice
between lump sum payment and 10 years Certain & Continuous
and approve his selection. Seconded by Ron Wood. Motion
passed unanimously.

The board then spoke to Mr. Sonday advising him of their approval of his
normal retirement.
Mr. Lowery was asked to attend the meeting. The board advised him of the
lump sum payment available. After checking with Dick Salisbury, it was
determined that Mr. Lowery could receive the lump sum payment after 1-1-78.
Mr. Lowery is to contact Ron Wood's office to advise which option he would
like.
Meeting adjourned.
