A regular meeting of the Cultural Resources Board was held on Thursday, September 27, 2007 at 12:00 p.m.
The following members were present:
Board Members present: Ann Wilmsen, Patrick Moran, Jack Steele,
Susan Marshall, Diane Gaede
Board Members absent: Sue Beck-Ferkiss, Carol Ann Hixon
Staff Members present: Jill Stilwell, Gail Budner, Cheryl Donaldson
Guests Present: Cathy Jones, FCCVB
Call to Order - (12:07 p.m.) Mr. Moran
IL Consideration of agenda: no changes
III. Consideration and approval of minutes of August, 2007:
Ms. Wilmsen made a motion to accept the minutes as amended.
Ms. Gaede seconded the motion..
Passed unanimously.
IV. Public Input: none
V. Arts and Humanities Month:
The Board reviewed the letter that was sent to local Arts Organizations requesting that they use the
National Arts & Humanities logo on their advertising literature. They also reviewed the ad designed
for Lincoln Center's playbills. An official proclamation was completed for the presentation to the
mayor at the October 2nd Council meeting. A press release was prepared for the media and
information regarding Arts and Humanities Month was posted on the City's website. The kick-off
event will take place at the Museum on October 5th. The Board also discussed ideas on involving Arts
and Cultural information into the City's new branding recruiting materials.
VI. Fort Fund Workshops Update:
Finalize Application Changes — The Board reviewed the amended application for Tier 1 and Tier 2&3.
Ms. Budner will make the recommended revisions.

Winning Fort Fund Grants — The workshop will be held in the Museum Annex at 301 E. Olive Street
from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm on October 24th. An informational letter will be sent out to past Fort Fund
applicants in early October requesting them to RSVP for the workshop.
Tier 4: Cultural Entrepreneurial and Innovation Fund — The Board reviewed Mr. Steele's PowerPoint
presentation . They will e-mail suggested revisions to Mr. Steele as soon as possible. The workshop will
also be held in the Museum Annex on November 14th, with Mr. Steele agreeing to lead it.
Business Support for the Arts— Ms. Wilmsen reported on her discussion with the Executive Director from
the Colorado Business Committee for the Arts in regards to a possible educational presentation to the Fort
Collins business community concerning their support of local Arts and Cultural organizations.
VII. Business Study by Diane Gaede — Ms. Gaede discussed the model of why businesses contribute to the
community and how communities can create and strengthen those partnerships. She also talked about the
theory behind corporate philanthropic responsibility, how it works and why.
VIII. Cultural Plan — Ms. Stilwell presented a draft of the plan to the Board for their review and requested
their feedback at November's meeting.
