COMMISSION ON DISABILITY
MEETING MINUTES
Thursday, October 12, 2006
12:15 p.m.
Present: Susan Williams, Melinda Suits , Peggy Graff, Beverly Hageseth Joanie Cook,
Guests: Mayor Hutchison, Mark Beck, Beverly Kyllingstad, Paul Michaelsen, Kelly Walker-
Hayley, Kevin Darst, Christy Dittmar, Cynthia Spang-Tate
City: Steve White, Annie Houston
Call to Order: Susan Williams, Chairman, called the meeting to order at 12:36 p.m.
2. Introductions: Introductions were made and included those nominated for the
Mayor's Awards.
3. Nominations: The list of candidates for 2007 were stated and were as follows:
Chairman: Susan Willhams
Vice -Chair: Steve Rierson
Secretary: Joanie Cook
Historian: Terry Schlicting
Motion: A motion was made by acclamation to elect the 2007 candidates as listed
above. Motion second and carried unanimously.
4. Mayor's Awards Presentation: Mayor Hutchinson welcomed everyone to the awards
ceremony. He read the description of each award and also what was said about each
nominee, in addition, he presented each recipient with a plaque. The reporter from the
Coloradoan was also present and took pictures as Mayor Hutchinson presented the
plaques. The list of winners are as follows:
Dorothy Lasley Award: Beverly Kyllingstad
Employer of the Year Award: Paul Michaelsen of Taco De1Mar
Spirit of Ft. Collins: Mark Beck
Volunteer of the Year Award: Kelly Walker -Haley
Mayor Hutchinson congratulated all of the winners.
Susan reminded those in attendance that the Mayor would be announcing the winners
at the October 17 City Council Meeting and that anyone was invited to attend.
5. Adjournment: The luncheon meeting was adjourned at 1:45 p.m.
