Retreat — June 23, 2007

A retreat of the Human Relations Commission was held on Saturday, June 23, 2007 at the
home of Joann Gina], 316 East Magnolia.
BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT:
Joann Ginal
Maryanne Ingratta
Elaine Boni
Maya Jairam
Cristina Matsushima
Paige Backlund Jarquin
James Ross
Karen Wong -Brown
COUNCIL LIAISON PRESENT:
Lisa Poppaw
1. Maryanne introduced Mims Harris who served as Facilitator for the meeting.
2. The retreat was called to order by Maryanne Ingratta at 8:15 a.m.
3. Elaine made a motion to approve the spending of $232.50 to buy a new plaque and
update the names of the recipients of the Human Relations Awards for the past few
years. This plaque will be placed in City Hall. The motion was seconded by Joann. It
passed unanimously.
4. James made a motion to adopt a new mission statement for the H.R.C. It was
seconded by Cristina. It was passed unanimously.
5. The new mission statement is as follows:
As community leaders and advisors to City Council,
we research, deliberate and take proactive and response measures
to promote the dignity of individuals and groups in Fort Collins.
6. Revisions to the 2007 Work plan were discussed; however, no formal action was
taken.
8. ADJOURNMENT. The retreat was adjourned at 12:15 p.m.
