HomeMy WebLinkAboutArt In Public Places Board - Minutes - 08/31/2006ART IN PUBLIC PLACES MINUTES Special Meeting - Thursday, August 31, 2006 Lincoln Center Ludlow Room MEMBERS PRESENT: Ann Carr, Jane Liska-Smith, Ray Tollison, Craig Russell, Alan Howe MEMBERS ABSENT: Lee Needham, Coriffmon-Cunningham STAFF PRESENT: Ellen Martin, Charity Kunter, Jill Stilwell, Marty Heffernan, Kraig Bader I. Call to order. 4:00 p.m. - Mr. Russell II. Consideration of the current agenda III. Review of Minutes from June 21, 2006 Ms. Liska-Smith motioned to approve the Minutes Mr. Howe seconded the motion Unanimously approved IV. Citizen Participation none V. Tenney Transformer Cabinets presentation: Artist, Amelia Caruso presented her design concept for the Transformer Cabinets in Tenney Alley. The artist's mural design is a painted dot pattern that conceptually connects with the head waters of the Poudre. The team hopes to prevent graffiti on the cabinets in the alley through this project and feels the design will aide with that. The painting of the cabinets will take 5 - 6 weeks to complete. Kraig Bader, a member of the design team from Light and Power was present. The budget for this project is $6500. Mr. Howe motioned that we accept the Tenney Alley Transformer Cabinet design concept of Ms. Caruso Mr. Tollison seconded the motion Unanimously approved VI. Underground Utilities Funds: Discussion and information about the use of Underground Utilities Funds was presented by Mn Marty Heffernan, Ms. Jill Stilwell, and Ms. Ellen Martin.
