Staff: U, Jim Broderick, Sgt. Russ Reed, Greg Tempel, Assistant City Attorney, and Angelina Sanchez -Sprague, Recorder. The meeting was called to order at 6:01 p.m. by Chair Harry Edwards. Minutes: August 9, 2006 Minutes — Dennis Baker made a motion to approve the minutes. Harry Edwards seconded the motion. There was no discussion and the motion passed 6-0. Case #2006-03 — Subcommittee minutes approved at the August g`" meeting. Voice Mail Reports: • CRB Voice Mail Message Report. Harry Edwards reported that as of 5:30 p.m. on September 13, 2006 there were no messages. • Bias Policing Voice Mail Report. No report —information will be available at the October 11, 2006 meeting. Harry Edwards asked if there would be any opportunity before to show gratitude for Sgt. Dave Pearson's fine work and tireless efforts. Lt. Broderick said not at a regular meeting. Dennis Baker made a motion to send an expression of appreciation to Sgt. Pearson for his service as the Internal Affairs Officer with the Chair to draft and to send copies to Chief Harrison, Lt. Broderick, and CRB Council Liaison Diggs Brown. Glenn Strunk seconded the motion. There was no discussion and the motion passed 6-0. Public Input: None New Business: Board & Commission (B&C) Annual Appreciation Event. Jim Broderick asked Board members to "save the date" for the Board & Commission Annual Appreciation Event on Wednesday, November 8, 5:30-7:30 p.m. At that event outgoing members Maria Martinez and Brian Carroll will be recognized for the service to the Board and the community. Coincidentally, the event is the same night as the regular monthly meeting. Dennis Baker made a motion to change the meeting time to November 8 at 5 p.m. and the meeting location to the Lincoln Center. Glenn Strunk seconded the motion. There was no discussion and the motion passed 6-0. Board Recruitment. Lt. Broderick recommended members go to the City's website (http://www,fcgov.com/cityclerk/boards.php ) to view a video in which current board members share their impressions about serving on boards and commissions. It's a part of the B&C recruitment effort that ends September 25. Harry Edwards recommended Board members approach individuals they believe would be interested in applying for one of the two vacancies on the Board. He would especially encourage female candidates to apply so that City Council would have an opportunity to maintain gender diversity on the Citizen Review Board. Pending Cases: Case #2006-07 — To be heard by Subcommittee after the regular meeting on September 13, 2006 Case #2006-08 — Subcommittee names were drawn as follows: 1. Maria Martinez, Chair 4. Glenn Strunk (alternate) 2. Dave Evans 5. Harry Edwards 3. Dennis Baker 6. Brian Carroll 7. Charlie Greeb Other Business: Lt. Broderick reported the following Citizen Academy training opportunities". Broderick know if you' like to attend. Adjournment: Charlie Greeb moved to adjourn the meeting. Maria Martinez seconded the motion. There was no discussion and the motion carried 6-0.
