HomeMy WebLinkAboutCitizen Review Board - Minutes - 03/21/2007Citizen Review Board Meeting CIC Room, City Hall March 21, 2007 Present: Dennis Baker, Jim Dubler, Chris Kahler, Glenn Strunk, Harry Edwards & David Evans Staff: Lt. Jim Broderick, Sgt. Russ Reed, Assistant City Attorney Greg Tempel, and Vicki Mesa, Recorder. The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Chair Harry Edwards. Minutes: Jim Dubler made a motion to approve the February 14, 2007 CRB minutes. Glen Strunk seconded the motion. There was no discussion and the motion passed 6-0. 07-01 Subcommittee meeting minutes - Dennis Baker made a motion to approve the meeting minutes. Jim Dubler seconded the motion. There was no discussion and the motion passed 3-0. Voice Mail Reports: CRB Voice Mail Message Report. No report. • Bias Policing Voice Mail Report. Sgt. Russ Reed reported there were three messages. One message was a complaint regarding the Sheriffs Office, noting the message was forwarded onto the Sheriff Office. He stated the remaining 2 messages were positive in nature thanking members of the Police Department. Public Input: - Elaine Boni of the Human Relations Commission passed out a copy of HRC award form and urged the board members to submit nominations, noting nominations are due March 31, 2007. She stated nomination forms can be accessed and filled out on the HRC website. New Business: Harry Edwards briefly explained the how the Election of Officers would be conducted clarifying the terms were 1 year. Dennis Baker made a motion to elect Harry Edwards as Chairman. Chris Kehler seconded the motion. Dave Evans moved to close nominations, the motion was unanimously adopted. There was no discussion and the motion to elect Harry Edwards as Chair was unanimously adopted. Harry Edwards made a motion to nominate Dennis Baker as Vice Chair. Glenn Strunk seconded the motion. Dave Evans moved to close nominations, the motion was unanimously adopted. There was no discussion and the motion to elect Dennis Baker as Vice Chair was unanimously adopted. Lt. Jim Broderick reported the Boards and Commission Manual is on the City of Fort Collins website, stating the City Clerk's Office would not be printing the manuals any longer. Boards and Commission Appreciation Survey: Harry Edwards urged board members to fill out and send in the Appreciation Reception Survey sent by the City Clerk's office. He stated it was an opportunity for board members to request or suggest changes to the event. Pending Cases: The Subcommittee for IA #07-03 will meet at the conclusion of the meeting. New Cases: There were no new cases. Old Business. There was no old business. Adjournment: Dennis Baker moved to adjourn the meeting. Dave Evans seconded the motion.
