Council Liaison: Ray Martinez II Staff Liaison: Aimee Jensen A regular meeting of the Liquor Licensing Authority was held on Monday, November 6, 2000, in Municipal Court, Justice Center, 201 LaPorte. Judge Kathleen M. Lane presiding. Staff in attendance: Greg Tempel, Assistant City Attorney Richard Johnson, Liquor Enforcement Officer Aimee Jensen, Deputy City Clerk Agenda Review Deputy City Clerk Jensen stated there will be no stipulation agreements presented at this meeting. Registration of Patricia L. Wentworth as Manager of Johnny Carino's Italian Kitchen, 4235 South College, Approved Patricia Wentworth, applicant, brieflyreviewed her employment history. She submitted copies of their training manuals. Ms. Wentworth stated she has also attended training given by Liquor Enforcement Officer Johnson. She stated there are 16-18 employees per shift involved with the service of alcohol. Ms. Wentworth stated she recentlyterminated an employee for serving a minor and that she has a copy of the liquor code on premise. She stated she is not tolerant of any liquor code violations. Judge Lane approved the registration of Patricia Wentworth as Manager of Johnny Carino's Italian Kitchen, 4235 South College. Request from County Cork, Inc., dba County Cork Pub, 313 West Drake, to Change, Alter, or Modify the Licensed Premises, Approved Rick Zier, attorney representing the applicant, stated he had consulted with David Reitz, State Liquor Enforcement Director regarding this application. He stated there will be trained and licensed security guards, employed by Cloverleaf Kennel Club, to monitor patrons between the licensed and off -premise areas. Mr. Maas, applicant, stated the zoning changes have been approved and indicated he has received support for this modification from his patrons. November 6, 2000 Judge Lane approved the application from County Cork, Inc., dba County Cork Pub, 313 West Drake, to Change, Alter, or Modify the Licensed Premises. Request from Kardona Corporation, dba Giovanni's Trattoria, 1027 West Horsetooth, Suite 111, to Change, Alter, or Modify the Licensed Premises, Approved Karen Petersen, applicant, briefly described the proposed changes. She stated this addition will add approximately 50 seats. Ms. Petersen stated they will increase their staff by one bartender and approximately four servers. Judge Lane approved the application from Kardona Corporation, dba Giovanni's Trattoria,1027 West Horsetooth, Suite 111, to Change, Alter, or Modify the Licensed Premises. Request from Suite 152, Inc., dba Suite 152, Bldg. 23, Suite 152, Old Town Square, to Change, Alter, or Modify the Licensed Premises, Approved Gino Campana, applicant, briefly described the proposed changes. He stated they have a building permit to make the changes. Mr. Campana stated they will have security monitoring the patio and checking W.'s. Judge lane approved the application from Suite 152, Inc., dba Suite 152, Bldg. 23, Suite 152, Old Town Square, to Change, Alter, or Modify the Licensed Premises. Transfer of Ownership of The Matrixx, 450 North Linden Center Drive, from Buonamici Ventures, Inc., to Big D Ventures, Inc., Approved David Jones, applicant, briefly summarized his background. He stated he has attended Liquor Enforcement Officer Johnson's training. Mr. Jones noted he will provide training to new employees. He described the premise and stated that patrons will be carded at the door. Mr. Jones stated employees will be terminated if they violate the liquor code. He stated he has the liquor code on premise. Andy Galvadon, attorney representing the applicant, stated that Mr. Tad Buonamici is not involved in the current operations of The Matrixx. In response to Assistant CityAttomeyTempel's questions, Mr. Jones stated his initial investment in Big D Ventures was $250. He stated he had not transferred funds into his account to cover the check written to the City of Fort Collins in time. Judge Lane approved the application for transfer of ownership of The Matrixx, 450 North Linden Center Drive, from Buonamici Ventures, Inc., to Big D Ventures, Inc. November 6, 2000 Transfer of Ownership of Juan Tequila, 23 Old Town Square, from J.C. Restaurants, LLC, to Alegria, Inc., and Trade Name Change to Sangria Rose Tapas Bar, Bldg. 23, Suite 100, Old Town Square, Approved Assistant City Attorney Tempel stated the deficiencies on this application have been corrected. Tony Stuart, applicant, briefly described the business. He stated they will not retain any of the employees from the previous owner and is in the process of hiring experienced staff. Mr. Stuart stated he will be the primary manager. He stated they will be carding patrons at the bar and at the table. Mr. Stuart stated they will be carding anyone who appears to be 30 and under and that staff training will include how to identify visibly intoxicated patrons. Assistant City Attorney Tempel submitted a police report for the Judge to review. Mr. Stuart briefly reviewed his criminal background. Judge Lane approved the application, contingent upon a corrected consent from the landlord for the sublease, for transfer of ownership of Juan Tequila, 23 Old Town Square, from J.C. Restaurants, LLC, to Alegria, Inc., and trade name change to Sangria Rose Tapas Bar. Request from Alegria, Inc., dba Sangria Rose Tapas Bar, Bldg. 23, Suite 100, Old Town Square, Approved Tony Stuart, applicant, briefly described the proposed changes. Mr. Stuart stated the neighborhood polled was generally supportive of this proposed modification. Judge Lane approved the application from Alegria, Inc., dba Sangria Rose Tapas Bar, to Change, Alter, or Modify the Licensed Premises.
