2007 Work Plan & Meeting Schedule
2007 Meeting Schedule
Regular meetings of the General Employees' Retirement Committee (GERC) are scheduled for
the second Thursday of every month and are held at 215 North Mason in conference room 2A
beginning at 1:15pm. The 2006 GERC meeting schedule is:
January 11 April 12 July 12 October 11
February 8 May 10 August 9 November 8
March 8 June 14 September 13 December 13
2007 GERC Work Plan
■ Prepare 2007 GERC Annual Report for City Council prior to January 31, 2007.
■ Elect Officers and Review GERC standing rules in February, 2007.
• Continue Monitoring of Retirement Philosophy and determine what additional
contributions must be made to the Plan in light of recent major losses.
• Revise actuarial assumptions prior to April 1, if necessary.
• Distribute `Personal Retirement Planning Statement' forms in April 2007.
• Review Quarterly Investment Reports.
■ Review legislative issues with actuarial consultant and support staff.
■ Conduct annual review of actuarial consultant services in June, 2007.
Prepare Work Plan for 2008 by November 30, 2007.
• Provide educational opportunities for GERP members when needed.
■ Monitor web site for the General Employees' Retirement Committee and request City
Clerk's Office to update as needed. Provide City Clerk's Office approved and signed
minutes to post on web site.
