A regular meeting of the Liquor Licensing Authority was held on Wednesday, June 28, 1978, at 7:30 p.m, in the City Council Chambers of the City of Fort Collins Municipal Building. Roll call was answered by the following members: Bean, Renz, Seegmiller, and Wilson. Absent: Long. Staff members present: Sgt. Bob Mason, Police Department Wanda Krajicek, Deputy City Clerk Also: Assistant City Attorney Ramsey Myatt Minutes of the Regular Meeting of May 31, 1978, approved as published Authority member Renz made a motion, seconded by Authority member Bean, to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of May 31, 1978, as published. The Chairman put the motion which was unanimously adopted. Renewals for the following listed establishments, auoroved Renewal application for a 3.2% Fermented Malt Beverage license for Safeway Stores, 425 South College Avenue. Renewal application for a 3.2% Fermented Malt Beverage license for Safeway Stores, 105 West Prospect. Renewal application for a 3.2 Fermented Malt Beverage license for Yitzelle's, 215 Foothills Parkway. Renewal application for a 3.2% Fermented Malt Beverage license for Godfather's Pizza, 116 East Foothills Parkway. Renewal application for a Retail Liquor Store license for Pit Stop Liquors, 315 Riverside Avenue. Renewal application for a Retail Liquor Store license for Foothills Discount Liquors, Ill West Monroe. Authority member Bean made a motion, seconded by Authority member Wilson, to approve the above listed renewal applications. The Chairman put the motion which was unanimously adopted. -1- June 28, 1978 Change of corporate ownership approved for Speedy Foods, 421 Cowan Max Beaver, 3424 Settlers Road, and Don Beaver, 1907 Leicester, appeared and were duly sworn before giving testimony. They stated that they had purchased Speedy Foods Inc.. from the previous owners and were planning no changes in the operation of the business. Authority member Renz made a motion, seconded by Authority member Bean, to approve the change of corporate ownership at Speedy Foods, 421 Cowan. The Chairman put the motion which was unanimously adopted. Transfer of ownership approved at Ray's Little Supermarket, 622 North College Avenue, and change of trade name to Jefferson Market Gary Crites, 1300 Ponderosa, appeared and was duly sworn before giving testimony. He noted that he had formerly been in partnership with the current owner, Victor McDonald, and was purchasing the business from him. He stated that he had operated another store in Ault and planned no changes in the operation. Authority member Bean made a motion, seconded by Authority member Renz, to approve the transfer of ownership and change of trade name at Jefferson Market, 622 North College Avenue. The Chairman put the motion which was unanimously adopted. Preliminary Hearing for Corner Pockets Billiard tabled to July 26, 1978 Authority member Bean made a motion, seconded by Authority member Renz, to table the preliminary hearing for Corner Pockets Billiards to July 26, 1978, at the request of their attorney David Wood. The Chairman put the motion which resulted in the following vote: Yeas: All. (Authority member Wilson abstained.) Nays: None. Show/cause hearing for Saddle -Up Liquors, 1015 S. Taft Hill continued to July 26, 1978 Authority member Bean made a motion, seconded by Authority member Wilson, to continue the show/cause. hearing for Saddle -up Liquors to July 26, 1978, at the request of Craig Rose, the owner. The Chairman put the motion which resulted in the following vote: Yeas: Bean, Seegmiller, and - Wilson. Nays: Renz. The motion carried. Other Business The Authority members directed the Assistant City Attorney to write a letter to Kiki Labadie of Kiki's Cafe Continental in regard to the recent newspaper account of his purchase of one-half interest in the -2- • i June 28, 1978 Northern Hotel and to send a courtesy copy to Bill Starke of the [Northern. Police Report Sgt. Mason reported that Jim Barry, State Liquor Enforcement Officer, had issued a summons to the clerk at Pit Stop Liquors, 315 Riverside, for an alleged under -age violation occurring on June 23, 1978, but that lie was going to request a hearing at the State level on the alleged violation. Adjournment Authority member Bean made a motion, seconded by Authority member Seegmiller, to adjourn the meeting. The Chairman put the motion which was unanimously adopted.
