Staff Liaison: Aimee Jensen A regular meeting of the Liquor Licensing Authority was held on Match 27, 2006 in Municipal Court, Justice Center, 201 LaPorte. Judge Kathleen M. Lane presiding. Staff in attendance: Teresa Ablao, Assistant City Attorney Aimee Jensen, Deputy City Clerk Robert Younger, Liquor Enforcement Officer Agenda Review Deputy City Clerk Jensen stated the show cause hearing for Mini Corporation, dba Matchups, 625 South Mason has been continued to May 1, 2006. Show -Cause Hearing for Zahakis, Inc., dba Pizza Casbah, 126 West Laurel Street, Violation Admitted, Penalty Set Konstantinos Zahakis, representative for Zahakis, Inc., stated the violating employee has already attended T.I.P. training. He stated all new employees are required to complete T.I.P.'s training within 60 days. Mr. Zahakis admitted to violating 12-47-901(1)(a.5)(I). Assistant City Attorney Ablao recommended the penalty be 15 days, of which 5 is actually served and 10 days held in abeyance for 1 year. Mr. Zahakis did not object to the penalty. In response to a question from the Judge, Mr. Zahakis stated he will contact Deputy City Cletk Jensen if he will pay the fine in lieu of the 5 day suspension or actually serve the 5 days. Judge Lane accepted the admission of the violation and set the penalty as recommended by Assistant City Attorney Ablao. Show -Cause Hearing for B&B's Pickle Barrel, Inc., dba B&B's Pickle Barrel, 122-124 West Laurel, Violation Admitted, Penalty Set Brenda Vaniscak, representative B&B's Pickle Barrel, Inc., stated she admits to violating 12-47- 901(1)(a.5)(I). She briefly described how she trains her employees. Ms. Vaniscak stated her employees have not received T.I.P. training for awhile. March 27, 2006 Assistant City Attorney Ablao recommended the penalty be 15 days, of which 5 is actually served and 10 days held in abeyance for 1 year. Ms. Vaniscak did not object to the penalty and stated she will serve the 5 days starting Monday, April 3, 2006 at 12:01 a.m. through Friday, April 7, 2006 at 11:59 p.m. Judge Lane accepted the admission of the violation and set the penalty as recommended by Assistant City Attorney Ablao. Show -Cause Hearing for Mugs Coffee Lounge, LLC dba Mugs Coffee Lounge, 261 South College Avenue, Stipulation Agreement Approved McCabe Callahan, representative for Mugs Coffee Lounge, LLC, read a short statement detailing the changes he has made to insure that this violation does not occur again. He stated he admits to violating 12-47-901(1)(a.5)(l). Assistant City Attorney Ablao recommended the penalty be 10 days, of which 3 is actually served and 7 days held in abeyance for 1 year. Mr. Callahan did not object to the penalty and stated he will serve the 3 days starting Saturday, April 1, 2006 at 12:01 a.m. through Monday, April 3, 2006 at 11:59 p.m. Judge Lane accepted the admission of the violation and set the penalty as recommended by Assistant City Attorney Ablao.
