Last month's minutes were approved as submitted. II. Committee Reports A. CED - Susan Lamb 1. The CED is continuing their work with developing an HRC budget. Susan plans to meet with Jaime and Mike to discuss further. 2. The restructuring of the HRC project is on hold until the budget issue is resolved. B. Police - David Lipp HRC members received a report from Jaime on the hiring process used to select Police Officers. There were five Police Officers hired in January, 1988. One was a female and one was a minority. The criteria used to select the top 90 candidates included the following: College background, Certified Police Officer, a Fort Collins Community Services Officer and police experience. Applicants were not given preference points for being Fort Collins residents. DEVELOPMENT C. Commauuity Action Hoard - Paul Locpo The Comtmmity Action Board is continuing to define their role as more action oriented. While serving of the CAB is time consuming, Paul stated that he felt it was rewarding. D. HRC Award - Susan Iamb The HRC Award Program is scheduled for May 6, 1988. The HRC Award committee has been busy revising the invitation to nominate individ- uals. Susan mentioned that there will be two awards given out again in 1988. E. Martin Luther Ring Day - David Lipp David reported that the MIK celebration was an overall success. While some activities were not as well supported as he had wished, others were very successful. Plans are already under way for next year's celebration. i �� III. Committee Assignments Appointments of committees were discussed, revisions were made to assignments which are attached. IV. Joint Work Project with Commission on the Status of Women - tabled until next month. V. New Business: The HRC received a letter from the Fort Collins Gay and Lesbian Alliance (F+CGIA). The letter was assigned to the anti- discrimination sub -committee. They are to review the letter and bring their recommendations to next month's meeting. It was suggested that meetings be moved to the 3rd Tuesday or the 2nd Thursday of the month. The meeting time would still be at 4:30 p.m. Be prepared to discuss at next month's meeting which day is best for YOU - VI. The City of Longmont is still planning to hold an HRC conference meeting on March 24, 1988. VII. Next HRC meeting is scheduled for March 16, 1988.
