April 19, 1989

I. Susan Kirkpatrick was introduced as our new City Council liaison.
II. Minutes were approved as written.
III. Committee Reports:
A. Committee of Executive Delegation (CED) - Susan - No report.
B. EEO/AA - Kathy - No report.
C. Police - Fred
Fred reviewed specific sections of the revised procedure. Susan
Kirkpatrick addressed concerns regarding whether the subcommittee
would have the option of consulting with Council if not satisfied
with the decision of the City Manager. Susan K. assured the
Commission that they would have the option of discussing a case on
an informal basis with Council members. Grammatical changes were
made on one passage for clarification. Mary moved that the
procedure be accepted by the Commission with the minor changes.
Lucius seconded and the motion carried.
D. HRC Awards Breakfast - Kathy
Kathy reported the recommended recipient of the individual award
is Bob Reed and the recommended recipient of the organization award
is the Activities Youth Center, Inc. The Commission voted to accept
the recommendations. The breakfast award ceremony will be May 5
at 7:30 a.m. in the Ludlow Room at the Lincoln Center.
E. CAB - Mary
Mary reported that the CAB is currently undergoing restructuring and
there is little going on at this time.
F. Joint Work Project - No report.

IV. Old Business - None.
V. New Business
A. Mary reminded the Commission that Mary and Randy will be going
off the Commission in July and we will need replacement
representatives on the CAB. Training for the board is in June.
B. Lucius will work with Susan on developing a brochure publicizing
the HRC.
